@@Robciomixxnfs it's funny they could have easily given that to baek instead of making a new theme for him but I ain't complaining cause his theme does suit him
I find myself humming Fiji all the time. Such a happy upbeat and easy tune. What’s remarkable is that these zones are so amazingly visually striking and they are embedded in my memory, the texture, colour, memorable music. Yet I can’t remember one zone or theme past tekken 2. T1 and T1 were really something special.
What's actually interesting about these backgrounds, is that both the arcade and the console version had parallax (layers of 2D to pretend depth), but Tekken 2 didn't for either version and Tekken 3 only brought it back for arcade. Tekken 3 also happens to have the ugliest stages of the whole saga.
I believe that they were pushing what they could do with Tekken 3 in regards to characters/particles, so they had the backgrounds take a hit. It's why True Ogre doesn't get a background when you fight him
@@TastyCarcass It was intentional with True Ogre, otherwise they could have kept the same stage and just changed the music (or kept it). In Tag 2, you fight Jun and then Unknown, the stage changes despite being the same stage. In Tekken 3 they did what Tekken 2 did with Kazuya and Devil had by turning the stage darker since it made the fight more personal and epic, like a mental battle and not just a physical one - a battle of the wills, so to speak.
Tekken 3's is not the ugliest, the temple has backgrounds compared to Heihachi's in Tekken 2's, which is a few static torches and darkness, in Tekken 3 there are windows to show the sky and by the time Ogre appears the fire lights up the floor. You can see it more detailed in Tekken Tag. Actually Heihachi's might be Jin's Mishima Zaibatsu stage but it is so dark, it's basically impossible to tell. Xioayu's stage is a theme park. It's very nice because it connects to her ending. Her and Jin's bonus stage is the school they both attend. The stages often have meaning and purpose in Tekken 3, and there are a few in Tekken 2 as well like King's Church, and Devil's Mirror Stage, but the other stages are boring. King's in Tekken 3 is outside on a ring in the middle of Mount Everest with helicopters, it is much more lively, bright and dynamic than any stage prior, in fact most probably are, hence why they reused only Tekken 3 stages in Tag rather than adding T1 and 2 (which mostly looked boring). Eddy's tropical field is so much more lively and refreshing than any of the fields from the first 2 games. No opinion on Law's, it is pretty ugly, but the ones from Tekken 1 and 2 are just as bad without decent beats. New York is in the alley somewhere out of sight, which is more realistic compared to just an opening with the city in the background. I don't care if it's somehow uglier in this stage, the music more than makes up for it. Yoshimitsu's swampy jungle forest is very colorful compared to any other woods stages, again complimented by the music. I will say Lei's from Tekken 2 looked quite interesting compared to Tekken 3's concrete streets, which still feels very distinguishable like all of the Tekken 3 stages as I easily remembered and pointed out. Tekken 2 Mirrored Stage is my favorite in the franchise, but notice I have not commented on any Tekken 1 stages? It's because they are awful in my opinion. Tekken 1 and 2 tend to just grab random pictures and make it a stage, there's like 4 to 5 desert stages in Tekken 2, that makes them extremely annoying and forgettable.
And of course Hwarang's grey temple is just a neat architecture. I'd rather play there or on the Great Wall than some random Field with the great wall in the background.
Always loved the Fiji music...and Stadium is a very close second...but they're all great tunes in their own way..I like that all the Tekken location tunes (excluding Venezia) were brought back as the tunes for all Tekken 2 sub-bosses
That would be the perfect opportunity for a new Tekken game where one of the stages is a baseball park. Imagine the ambience of screaming fans and fireworks.
Better to worst in MY opinion: 1 - King George's Island (Better) 2 - Monnument Valley 3 - Szechwan 4 - Angkor Wat 5 - Chicago 6 - Venezia 7 - Kyoto 8 - Acropolis 9 - Windermere 10 - Fiji 11 - Stadium (Worst)

Of course and Chicago was Lee's theme in Tekken 2. Pretty much all the Tekken 1 music became the new characters theme in Tekken 2 with Baek Do San being unique with his own.
I like how they used all of these map' themes into Tekken 2 subbosses maps.
Like Armor King, Anna, Wang, Bruce etc.
Tekken 2 forever,❤
With the exception of Venezia theme. It isn't in Tekken 2

Same bro. Same. Fuckin greatest fighting game of all time. Gives me the feels.
I don't understand but I enjoy watching these stages more than the modern stages
I love Windermere, IMO it has the best track in the entire game
Jane Doe completely agree, alongside szechwan.
i love the Soundtraks

fiji soundtrack sounds familiar to a stage from tekken tag tournament 2

Tekken fact Jack. Venezia was the only original Tekken theme never reused in Tekken 2.
Ones I like: Szechwan, Kyoto, Angkor Wat and Windermere
The Stadium is by far my favourite! I'd love to actually visit the real life Chiba Stadium some day.

King George is so loud and so, tense it's amazing! Adds like more enthusiasm and creates tension during your fight ITS EPIC
I think king George sounded different in the arcade then home edition?

Monument Valley used to creep me out as a Kid.

Nah, your best option would be just setting the 2P game with the max amount of rounds with full handicap for the "training dummy" character.
