One of my earliest and most cherished memories from the 90's is my brother borrowing the original Tekken. I was born in 1993 and we're from Chicago so it makes sense this track got stuck in my head. :) I vividly remember the drop at at 0.41 and Michelle suplexing the fuck out of me when the only attack I knew was the grab with Law where he did a flip. It's crazy because I thought this song went with the Stadium stage, but I guess I remembered things wrong. I still live in Chicago and sometimes I drive to this tune looking at our beautiful skyline!
This and Fiji Paraiso better be in Smash Bros! when i think in OG clunky Tekken these are the themes i remember the most. (It's here! Idk why but this could fit very well with some break the targets/polygon-man thing, Fiji Paraiso didn't make it, but i'm happy for this)

This OST is on Spotify now (all the Tekkens are) and the old announcer's "1, 2, 3, 4" samples are oddly absent. Not a big deal but it does make me curious; I wonder if it is/was a contract/time-license issue?
@@GerkIIDX Yes, it's both in Tekken 7 and Smash Ultimate with the numbers cut out. If you listen closely (at least in the Smash version, I'm sure Tekken 7's is the same), you can hear the one and four pronounced at the same time. Prince's Loose has the numbers and sounds extremely similar, so my assumption is that it was done to differentiate it in some form to avoid any issues with Prince's estate.
Probably why it wasn't included in the DLC for TTT2 under Tekken 2. After the whole fiasco of trying to get 3 songs in TTT2 with a shitty computer I thought "hey, I might has well buy the cheap DLC to get Lee's theme, it will be so much easier than doing it myself" then got extremely annoyed it wasn't included.
Highly sure prince gave them permission, cause he could of easily sued them. And besides, 👁 think the creator of Tekken was a fan of prince. When it came 2 music, Prince was not the person 2 fuck with. 🤣

It's hard to describe how revolutionary this kind of sound was in 1994 on a home console coming from the SNES and Genesis.
Nupe, this was PSX made a year after the arcade release in 1995, This is from a CD dude
@Joe Francisco DeFreitas I know that. I meant this kind of sound was revolutionary on a console after having only been used to SNES and Genesis.
