@ was getting some live bait, pulled up a trag on the bait jig so we dropped down a bottom rig with a yakka on top, and caught the trout, was unbelievable
Fish skin is delicious, salt it and shallow fry and and you can make "fish chips" with it. I scale and skin and cook a quick treat while I clean the rest of the fish.
@ yeah off rocks down here is pretty decent in some places but can be crowded and there's a fair bit of pressure on the fish cause of how many people are here. Still some around though. How is it up there on land especially open facing like this vid? Eg not river and estuary. Not much rock work around there right cause of the long beaches
mate... a tip from a chef, if you're gonna skin the fish, you don't really need to scale it, saves your time and less messy. Of course that also depends on your knife type & condition, and skills
@@skyblair826 ahhhh yes ! I’ve had a couple of comments about this haha 😛 a good tip, I’ll definitely be trying it out and also upgrading the knife situation also hahaha 🤣
@@CRACKERFISHING basically hard body surface and sinking ( Rapala, nomad ) and most soft plastics I use are bait junky ( prawn or minnow ). These are the ones that usually catch a lot of fish 😅 but all depends
@ I'm on the Goldie at the moment. Need to catch me a Gold Coast Coral. That was sick. I didn't think they'd be down here, let alone getting one land based. Super trick.
I Definitely don’t eat undersized fish !! but I appreciate the concern for the fish. It was 6cm over the legal size which is perfect for eating 👌 I catch and realise many many fish and am very selective 👌 thanks for the comment though
Yew! One of the best local youtubers uploaded! Always a fix with fishing fix

Insane. Congrats dude!! Just wondering why you choose to scale fish before you skin them? Do you find it easier to skin them without the scales on?
Actually have no idea 😂 someone else wondered that too and now imma have to try it the other way haha !
