- An in-depth flip through of my undergraduate architecture portfolio, sharing my architecture designs, compositions, and architecture portfolio layout tips. I am extremely passionate about architecture and everything architecture!
Architecture portfolio is one of the most important items that architecture and/or architecture students would provide. Presented by a thoughtful collection of drawings, photos, text and pictures, it provides a history and a record of knowledge that shows the architectural talents, practices and capabilities of its designers. Without a portfolio, it is challenging to gain an architectural role within a profession or an architecture school in college or university.
This undergraduate architecture portfolio is an A3 Square portfolio that measures 297x297 per page and has 50 pages or 25 spreads. It is an academic portfolio with 6 architectural projects and designs as well as a section for my architectural sketches and technical portfolio. This portfolio has previously provided me with the opportunity to work in architectural practice and further my education towards a master's degree and finally becoming a qualified architect.

10:00 - I struggle a lot with technical drawings and I just cannot make section drawings. Unfortunately, I wasn't taught much about the drawing conventions for these drawings and I haven't practiced enough because I always run out of time before getting feedback.
Could you please make a video explaining the important bits and bobs of section drawings and how to get started and how to understand insulation and floor details etc. (if you haven't already made a video haha)?

Wow very brilliant work!! Very inspiring for sure. My portfolio in the olden days lol was hand drawn. It was in the very early days of Computer drawing.
There was no archi cad or auto cad or photoshop. Lots of hours spent avoiding mistakes and smudges. One mistake meant start the drawing all over again. Things in architecture have change so much over the years.
Just before your video started, there was an add for frank ghery online master class course. That looked awesome.
That is really impressive! I don't think that I have that kind of patience but only time will tell. I have actually watched that masterclass, and yes, it was awesome!

I am such a big fan of your channel and I am so so grateful this channel exists! I gained so much help and motivation from the videos on your channel! From this portfolio as well as from every of your videos, I can see just how much effort and dedication you put into the projects and your immense passion for architecture. I do love architecture and I am moving on to my second year in architecture, but I'm lacking confidence and worried for the upcoming hardships and constantly doubting myself :'( I only had to complete one project each semester for my design module in my 1st year but for you, it seemed two or more than two? Thank you so much for your comment Reena! I appreciate it. Yes, for some semesters we had multiple projects and others we only had 1 project. I haven't yet uploaded a video on technical drawings because I don't feel that I am competent enough in that area to share. Hopefully, in a few more years xD

wow really nice ! can i ask why its 2 pages besides eachother ? and why they are square ? so many people have this measures and i dont know where i can find the place that i can real all requirements because when i search on the internet it says 8.5 x 11 inches but every one has it in square size :(

Thank you for making this video, I'm currently moving on to my third year and I am wondering if I should keep the earlier drawings I did in my first year and second, or do you think it is better to be consistent in style, which requires me to re-render the earlier drawings?
It's always best to keep all of the drawings that you have for future reference but only include your best work in the portfolio. As for the style, hmmm that's a tricky one. I'd say if the style is not tooooo different, then it'll be okay to keep your older drawings as it shows your progress. It also helps to have a clear and consistent layout across all of the pages as well.

They are drawn on CAD and then rendered on Photoshop.

Thank you! A portfolio can be any size if it is presented digitally. Physical portfolios can range from a4 all the way to a2 if needed. Most of my portfolios are a3 and I find that it suits my needs.

I love all your videos, I just wished they where longer like 30mins+. Mostly important videos like photoshop renderings.
Its really hard creating that length of videos because it takes a lot of space, editing time, writing a script, editing my voice, etc. I can upload 30min long videos on my Patreon page with just music :)

Which panel do you mean? I have a laptop with a detachable touch screen that I think is better than an ipad. But if you have the money, an ipad couldn't hurt 😅✌️

I've used Sketchup, Vray and Photoshop. Sometimes used Revit for modelling too!

You can absolutely add your personal projects! But I would suggest choosing them wisely. 😁

It's Doctor Glitch! I have been experimenting with TH-cam thumbnails and fonts on my last videos and I think you are the first to notice ❤️ I will be changing them again though as I finally made up my mind on a font (Butler) paired with Calibri Bold. Check the channel in the upcoming days to see the new thumbnail styles 😊❤️

There's really no limit to how long or short a portfolio should be. Mine is under 30 spreads which I think is a good number. Yes of course! You can add more hobbies and interests if you wish
