Hi Russ. Thank you for making frequent videos when you would like to take your new van on a road trip but can't for now. your efforts are appreciated! Thumbs Up!!!
Love seeing these out-of-the-way places; look forward to you returning for a more in-depth look. That old gas station was neat. 35-cent-a-gallon gas, fill me up! Thanks for visiting, Russ.
Go back when things have gone back to normal. The murals in the back of town are cool. And the best pulled pork sandwich I ever had was cooked and served in Chloride. Great place.
Russ, When you return to Chloride, about 1 1/2 mile passed Chloride turn off going toward Hover Dam, is Big Wash Rd.. If you take that scenic road, it will take you to Windy Point campground. Its above Chloride, 6000+ elevation. The road going up there is nicely graded. I believe, you can take your van up there cuz I saw a car camping there about 2 years ago when I drove my VW off road buggy and did the loop trail. The campground is nice. You can't do the loop trail with your van cuz its very rough on the other side. Your buggy can make it though. Almost at the end of the loop trail you pass through the Mural and end up in Chloride. There are some disperse camping along the road going up Windy Point campground also. 35°23'17.28" N 114°21'29.26 W on the other side on HWY 93 is huge abandoned mine also . The dirt road going to the mine is nice. Perfect ride for your buggy. Have fun!
It gets just as hot in summer as Las Vegas. I Spent Over 20 Years In Las Vegas And Visited Chloride Many Times.I Think It Is More Populated Now Than It Was in the 80s-90s. I Bought Land Down The Road At Dolan Springs Back In The 80s. Im Going Back To Dolan This Fall For Some Camping for a month or So. So Many Great Memories Of My Life In Mohave County. Cant wait to Snowbird it again this Year And All The Rest Of The Years I Have Left. Thank You For This Video.
I met a woman in the grave yard there that had lived there her whole life, good as place as any I guess. Just found it interesting, we chatted for about an hour.
Russ, thank you so much for these videos. It's great to be able to escape our home lockdown routine and follow along on your video adventures. I'm certainly looking into exploring some of your locations that you have introduced to your viewers. Take care and stay safe.
nice place to bike and camping. I use to drive a big rig past there every week going to Nevada. I love it there. the United States has soo many great places.
The Murals are definitely worth seeing and as the locals there will tell you: "About the time you decide that you better turn around because the road is getting too rough, you're now there." We did it 2-up on a 100% street motorcycle. The Restaurant / Bar was pretty decent. People, mostly construction workers were staying at the motel. The Cemetery is worth spending some time there for the history, if that interests you.
Happy Easter Russ! Today’s ride along was very interesting. I’ll have to remember Chloride next winter when I’m down that way! Looked like a fun place to visit! Thanks for the ride !
It probably is a little cooler there. I noticed it is about 4000 ft. elevation. I was stationed at Ft. Huachuca, AZ in the mid 70's and it is at an elevation of about 4600 ft. If it was 110 in Phoenix and 100 in Tucson we would be at about 90. Pretty nice climate actually.
Neat little town, we had lunch there last year. A lot of yard art from old mineing items. There's some old town there where they have old gun fights for show.
@@jolenaagapisou3803 Not to worry, I heard Winn is making plans to reopen, and I'm sure the others will follow. So glad to see your a beautiful Redhead. My late wife was a Redhead. I seem to get drawn to Redheads like a magnet.
Ridiculous how everything is closed, even Vegas, never thought I’d ever see that! People are protesting all over the country to open our great country, I’m glad!! Ive been all over the Southwest, beautiful country, even lived in north Las Vegas years ago. Got caught in the middle of a sandstorm in my new Camaro at Searchlight, I think it was called, memories make life worth living 🌹🌺🌷🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️❤️
I have to say I really love your videos you're doing this the right way and your ban travel in the United States may I call you weigh High Plains Drifter
You went to Chloride AZ and didn’t go see the petroglyphs or the Purcells’s murals? That’s the only reason to go to chloride other than for the “chloride days” event.
THAT IS UP AND RUNING! I KNOW AN OLD HAMER MECHANIC THAT DIED TRING TO GET BACK ON THE HY 93 SO BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU LEAVE THAT SLEEPY TOWN AND GET BACK ON THE RAT RACE 93!
Hi Russ happy Easter, I went past the chloride sign on my way to Vegas, always wondered what it was like. Thanks and take care
Ha! me too. You take care too.
This put a grin on face and a tear in my eye, alot of my relatives are in that graveyard. Thanks for the tour.
A very cool little town. I've been really liking your recent local videos. Thanks Russ!
The old gas station was not originally at THAT spot. Was up at the main intersection and owned by a man they called Squock.

Love this little town ❤ Thanks Russ!!!
East of chloride is a beautiful little Campground called Windy Point your van can make it to the top
The pump is reading early 60's gas prices. In "80" Unleaded in California went from 86 cents a gallon to $1.06 per gallon. Thanks for videos.
I met a woman in the grave yard there that had lived there her whole life, good as place as any I guess. Just found it interesting, we chatted for about an hour.
Locals, anywhere, are hard to find these days. Always have good stories.
That is a nice old town. Maybe someday I will make it down that way. Thanks for taking us along.
Super shot with the drone...everything looks the same as a couple years ago in Sara Jane WH vid..even the lime green DODGE motorcoach ...!!
That new proposed interstate is going to come all the way down through Tucson and on to the border if memory serves.
Wow...Chloride looks like a really nice place to live. Love the view from the drone.
Drove through here on a family vacation 22 year ago. Reminds me of Stephen King's Desperation.

Oatman
Nice video
Odd that the main street in Chloride AZ is called Tennessee Ave.
Great videos you're doing from AZ.
Very fascinating blue sky of AZ. But I am stuck in Tokyo. I hope everything will be in order by autumn so that a 72 year old man can visit USA again.
Years ago I owned property in Meadview. I remember when 93 was 2 lanes from Vegas to Kingman. Scary. You should visit Meadview some day.
Did I just see a tombstone that was inscribed B.C (Butch Cassidy) ?
Russ even you could make a landfill run interesting!
Good morning Russ, loving your “off the beaten path” videos.👍 Would that Chloride cemetery be considered an LTVA? 😂
Ive been here, and met a drunk gentleman named Dean haha! It was a cool experience to be out there.... he seemed like the mayor of the town haha
A guy my brother in law worked for had a turquoise mine some where near Kingman.
If your going to Bullhead, might as well cross the river to Laughlin to see how Dead the casino's are.
Bob Williams - that would be so depressing!!! I luv Vegas, Laughlin & Arizona
@@jolenaagapisou3803 Not to worry, I heard Winn is making plans to reopen, and I'm sure the others will follow. So glad to see your a beautiful Redhead. My late wife was a Redhead. I seem to get drawn to Redheads like a magnet.

You went to Chloride AZ and didn’t go see the petroglyphs or the Purcells’s murals? That’s the only reason to go to chloride other than for the “chloride days” event.
