LG gets shit on so much when really they are some of the best bang for the buck top tier brands. Not to mention they are unfairly picked on.
LG has the first glass back phone in the Nexus 4. Reviewers questioned the design choice and called it a step in the wrong direction. Look at us now.
LG releases the first globally available quad HD display in the LG G3. Reviewers at the time called it gimmicky and/or overkill. Look at us now.
LG releases the first modular phone in the LG G5. It's panned, given nothing but negativity, and crap about only having 3 modular options upon initial release. The next year Motorola releases its modular phone, also with only 3 modules available upon release, and is not given a single ounce of grief over its same number of modules. While the implementation of the modular design eas done way better by Motorola, they were given a free pass on their same number of modules. Not a single reviewer who gave LG shit for only having three gave shit to Motorola. Hypocrites.
LG does the first extra tall display in the LG G6. Reviewers do nothing but complain about the lack of compatibility with most apps upon release. A month later, Samsung unveils the S8, with an even taller aspect ratio, and is given universal praise and not ONR reviewer saying the same things about compatibility that was said about LG.
LG has done more innovation and risk taking than any other phone brand in thw last 6 year's and they are always bashed, made fun of, or "but my bootloops" ad nausea the entire time. Meanwhile other companies follow their lead and are praised for their "risk taking" and "outside the box thinking".
Thank you LG for being the real face of Courage.

Facts, I'm sensing a conspiracy. What LG needs to do is up its marketing game. I'm currently using a v30 and it's got really good reviews just as a phone but for what meant to be, a multimedia driver. if LG had just marketed their devices as a multimedia device while using its QUAD DAC feature as its specialty, even bringing back g7's speakers, audiophiles and anyone who appreciates the headphone jack and sound in general would for sure pick it up and Overlook the small things that it doesn't do better than Samsung or Apple. I don't think LG realizes that they're in a lane of their own, but again it's marketing, they gotta show confidence in their product and what/who its meant for, also they need to stay on top of the software updates, you can't be constantly late to the party and then wonder why consumers aren't choosing your phones

To be honest there's a pretty good reason lg gets shit on... I have owned 3 LG G4's repaired twice then told the third one wouldn't have the same boot loop problem..(It did) then I decided to upgrade to the LG V10 witch after one week it got stuck in the boot loop problem and Lg didn't do shit all to fix this problem for me. Yet I'm still happy as could be with my LG v20 now. its been kicking ass for years now with no complaints from me.. Other then the screen burn-in and the battery that came with it was garbage!

Don't forget that LG also did rear mounted buttons, which has lead to rear mounted fingerprint sensors. They also did slim bezels on the G2, and lastly, the G Flex and G Flex 2. Hardly any press coverage, but they were curved phones that could be flattened out, and wouldn't crack or break. LG pushes the boundaries, and I like them for that.

If you care anything about portable audio playback. of the highest possible quality, there is no comparison. LG's DAC easily rivals some much more expensive DAP's. Plus it records better then anything out there, as far as a phone goes, and I've compared the results to recent portable tascams and a sonys. Neither will play back stereo 24\192. One of the great joys, in my life, is to record live jazz and then listen to it on my home, followed by playing it on my home stereo with a good quality DAC into my Paradigm speakers. Music is Life!

And I'm a self-claimed audiophile rocking the FAD Heaven VI, Pandora VI, HD600s, and thousand dollars worth of speakers.
So I won't be surprised if someone just overlooks the Quad DAC because
      1. they are just not audiophiles
      2. the Quad DAC isn't that spectacular compared to some audiophile players at the price point above $200, it's just convenient to have it

What they should have done was to outline the benefits in using their dac/amp built into the phone as it is the standout feature of this phone and I bet most people don't even know about it still. However at least from my point of view if I was buying a phone this year it would most likely be the note 10 as I have a dedicated headphone dac/amp and the note has features that I adore.

Is LG g8 a better value or the LG V40?given that V40 is around 100-150$ cheaper.... ( all it matters to me is the screen quality and the speed?). Now here is my experince from owning LG phones...From my experience the lower to mid range LG phones are very unreliable both on hardware and software side. The flash on my Stylo 4 which was only 9 months old decided to give up and the battery life went down the drain like it lost like its 70% of capacity. And that's just the hardware. I dont even wanne talk about the software. I had to literally restart the phone everyday. I got sort of lucky that the phone was under warranty so i returned it and got a replacement which hardwarewise is okey so far... Now LG G8 prices have dropped drastically( u can buy 3 new LG g8 phones for the price of 1 Samsung note 10).And im thinking of getting one but im afraid of long term longevity...

15:00 Actually, I have the G7 and I love it. If you just need a snappy phone for business (like me) its perfect. I spend my entire day on computers so I only need my phone while commuting or for phone calls. The battery is still running strong a year later too. What else can you ask for?

Your very words are regurgitated information. Can you think for yourself and have you ever used it?
I'm so sick of people like you who need to be told what to like, buy and do to play into your own insecurities with the need of fitting in.
I don't think you even know what something special is do you?
Most people who can't think for them selves usually don't know because something special is in the eyes of the beholder that owns it.

The last lg phone i had was lg g5 and that phone was pure garbage. After 3 months in I had max 3 hours of SOT (even after swapping new batteries) and the lcd for some reason had burn in issues. Yes you read that right. The LCD display had burn in issues. After 1 year the phone died on me. Been hearing good things since lg g6 tho and was tempted to give them a chance once more but my experience with the g5 was just so shit i stopped myself a few times.
Might try the g8 if it came to my country. Cheers for the video mate. Great review with great analysis.

Sad reality of the tech world youtubers just praise a product to their specific fan base but neglect products like the G8 and Razor phone 2

    • @mdrahman6732
      @mdrahman6732 5 ปีที่แล้ว

The LG g8 is good but the razor phone was meh to bad. Like, the only selling points were the large speakers and 120hz screen(maybe even the light up razor logo). That had a camera that sucked for a $700 device. Not saying it was horrible but it was more justified to underratement compared to LG and Sony.

    • @aliqasim3750

This is the most thorough non-review review of any phone I've ever seen or read. It is informative and presented intelligently, with precision and examples to support your findings. Critics will still complain, but they are just uneducated & misinformed about how a product should be analyzed. One last comment...thanks for commenting on the "bootloop" issue from the past. If I read one more comment from someone every time an LG phone is released I'm going to be ill. Let it go people!
