The irony of the first shooter, shooting at everyone that drove by, and killing many, then at the end of his stand-off screaming "DON'T SHOOT" at the cops as they moved in on him....
I'm so glad Australia finally learnt its lesson and tightened the gun laws. Just seeing these landmarks of these places, where I grew up just really makes it all hit home.
Across the road is the Clifton Hill pheated pool and l went there all the time...l was around the corner on High Street at my sister's flat and we heard the shooting
My fathers fish and chip shop was just on the other side of the park on queens parade and my mother happened to be riding her bicycle to Clifton hill station at the same time the shooting began luckily she had doubled back dropping her bike and running away to the safety of the shop and then cowering in the bathroom upstairs for hours until she heard my father open the doors the next morning
Yes we are, a life sentence is 25years, not an actual life sentence. How ever we at least banned alot of guns and made it so you have to be registered to have a gun. We haven't had any massacres since then. Our children do not live in fear while at school and can focus on growing up and having fun with friends.
My father worked in this building he worked at telecom i worked see him quite lot everyone were still scared about 5 years later in was pretty young but still remember it
I remember being on an early morning train on the Epping line (Mernda Line) heading to trade school in Collingwood and seeing the carnage on Hoddle Street. Being 17 at the time and seeing three of these featured stories (in this video) unravel in a short amount of time around places I went and hung out at made me think at the time, what's going on with Melbourne, what's the future hold? So glad gun control measures were implemented by the Government of the day, we couldn't wait any longer.
Craig Minogue is absolutely 💯 a waste of space. He demonstrates such disturbing and dysfunctional personality traits, and has been a pain in the back side of the prison service since his incarceration in the 1980s. Go read up about him.

I shook my head as I heard that and spoke out loud, with no one to hear me, that he's a snivelling cowardly little no mark.
Parole should NOT exist !!! And life should mean LIFE !!!

Absolutely
And look at the difference! America should learn from this. Guns for $$$ america yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee MERICAAAAAA
"hit home" well said
@@AstronomyAstrophotography I wouldn't go there if you paid me lol.
Yeah good job, now only the criminals have them 🙄
What a travesty of a sentence. An absolute joke. 27 years before he can apply for parole?? Bring back the DP
I doubt that the snivelling coward little no mark will get parole, but I was disgusted with his sentence also!
Great production. Really enjoyed it

Wow that's so close!
Really interesting and tragic. I'm ashamed to say, I've never heard of these massacres.
Unfortunately there are so many cases like this that the public will never be aware of - thanks for watching
Are you Australian?

I actually walked passed this police station the hour before this happened. I was on my way home from job interview.
Oh wow! Did you get the job?
I'm grateful you were safe. You just never know what could happen at any time.

1:41:32 does he look like a younger John Howard, I think it’s the eyes and eyebrows 😂
19.76 and 1987s were just so bad in Australia at least when they got rid of guns its been a lot better for Australia
Australia is as effed up as here in the US on light sentencing
Don’t talk nonsense

Hardly ‘unspeakable’ considering this is a show that is ‘speaking’ about it!
