"What if she lost her life, willfully"
I will give my interpretation of this song, by what I hear from the lyrics and what I see on the album cover:
A man and a woman were deeply in love, but things weren't going so well. The collapsed civilization has made it very hard to be happy. One day, she dies. The man is deeply mournful of this loss so he seeks to bring her back to life. He collects her blood in a big hourglass. He has a special power that allows him to control the forces of life. As he carries her blood around, he kills many people in order to collect their life force. Containing that energy in his hourglass, in hopes to bring her back. He loses everything in this pursuit.
One day, after going through this dark path, he finally reaches a point where he can bring her back in a temporary ghostly form, but he discovers that she really didn't want to be brought back. It was all for nothing in the end. Their tears will be forgotten.

"In the sixth chapter, the lyrics were written on a completely different land, making it obvious that both have died at the very same moment. Yet time, as a human concept, it’s nothing more but a limitless paradox of logical chaos. The title itself, explains everything...as humans, paragons of quantic tears, to grieve, is by its own nature, a sin...a sin that he has already been punished for. Although...his death not only feeds the gallows' curse, but her personal recollection of forgotten dreams becomes their perdurable lullaby of woe...her ether, frozen in a timeless sphere of cosmic dust, accursed to search for her twin-flame under the flag of ocean's bleeding eyes..." - Shadows Valentine
