Mudlarking + Nightlarking A Super Low Tide On A Super Blood Moon!

- This week we did something a little different while mudlarking. We went evening and night larking under a Super Blood Moon which meant the tide was especially high and low! It was a lot of fun and we found a few goodies as well including one very unusual find that we always love. Come with us on this dark and beautiful adventure :)

How exciting and different, amazing to find a Frozen Charlotte head, you could search for years in broad daylight and not find one but the Fleur finds one in the dark! Brilliant.

Night of the dead heads. What fun it was in the dark. Sing the Simon and Garfunkel song amended, " hello darkness my old friend, I've come to lark with you again". I love the scuttle of crabs, lets you know that the ecosystem is recovering. I wonder what they thought of the moon since it took their water away from them. The jelly with the hole kept open can be a Bundt cake! Blessings

Ohhhhh...the pics of the blood moon were amazing. It was clear skies all night until like a half hour before the moon turned red! Ugh! Completely hidden from the clouds as a result! Bundt cake! The doll’s house jelly with the hole in the middle looks just like a bundt cake, and it has a pedestal built in!

An absolute joy to be allowed to join you both on this special lark. A small haul but what lovely finds; the little jelly and charlotte head were a delight. As you said Kate, black beads and cabachons were the color for the night lark. Those pics of the moon, sky and sea just enhanced the enjoyment you guys brought to us. Sue and Ian, Australia
That moon was incredible, I can only imagine what it looked like in person! Love the UV glass it's always surprising when you come across it. The jelly is adorable, you should paint it green instead of red, the dolls can have an assortment of flavor! 😄

Whenever we get a super moon or any other interesting celestial happening, we get an impenetrable layer of cloud cover, too. So it was great to see it over your fun hunt.
Since you already have a jellie maybe your new find could be a Bundt Cake since it has the hole in the middle. Delightful outing as always, the Sunset & Blood Moon were stunning. Neat to find out about Swiss Helvetica.

be sure to make a mold of the new jelly on the raised plate, you could make necklaces with them and paint them like cakes.
You could use the pieces of uv beads on the outside of a doll house, so that when you turn off the lights at the end of a day they glow like night lights.

How strange to find allthose black things in the dark!!!! The frozen Charlotte head was a good find too Fleur. I love the jelly on the stand. It looks like it could have come from one of those dishes that keep things hot. Definately my favorite find of you blood moon lark. Well done ladies.

That jelly you found looks identical to those moulded sponge cakes with a hole in the middle! That was a lovely song thrush belting out a song in the background 😊 That head that Kate found with the hat looks just like her, if the hair was painted a dark reddish colour 😂 That moon was great, but I'm not surprised you were spooked in the dark 😬 You two are so fabulous!
Yes. A bundt cake we call it here in the USA.
And the code words are .....'Good for Craft"....which means, to those of us in the know, 'The Dolls' House'. Don't be afraid to actually say it because it is a part of your talent. Kate, great job with the videography and music. The drone footage was great, too...was that Oscar flying?

That was really fun. The moon must have been beautiful, I remember seeing that sight once before and it was much much bigger looking than the video portrayed. I imagine it made for a really fun evening. Thanks for sharing it with us. 😊 It's funny that you said that your favorite find was the one you called the jelly. It's my favorite too. I thought the same thing the minute I saw it. In the U.S. we just call them a jello mold (even though the mold is the part that makes the shape). It's perfect! And, I really don't think anyone watching minds how many time you say "Doll House". Most of us know what you're hunting and what it's for. However, if you want to break it up a bit, just saying "good for crafting", as you do sometimes, works just as well. I love to see what you do with everything. It makes the mudlarking adventure all the better because you then use your finds and we get to see that too. I love your videos (on both channels), thank you so much for all your hard work. 😘

We usually get the massive orange moon in late summer early fall. We call it a harvest moon. I think it is has something to do with of all the dust in air from the harvest of the 'grain' crops. Once the moon is a certain distance above the horizon it is no longer so huge. Some kind of magnifying due to conditions in the atmosphere? Absolutely beautiful. I have never been able to figure out how to photograph it to do it justice. Pretty awesome film. Congratulations on getting a head. Lol. A Charlotte head. Tee hee. Chuckle chuckle. 😜

Fun Fact. In regards to your Swiss 5 Rappen coin. the 5, 10 and 20 Rappen coins have had the same obverse and reverse pictures for well over 140 years. they,ve never changed the design and the coins are still in circulation today.

The jelly mold is epic! If you do a search ("vintage" gelatin mold), you’ll find many are hollow, and what, if anything, goes in the center is up to the imagination of the cook. 😁 There were some pretty crazy ones in the 1950’s/1960’s… though that’s the wrong vintage for your “special craft” project. ♥️

That was an amazing super moon with its orange glow. I like all the UV glass you found and the faceted french glass. Maybe the jelly mould had a candle in it. Thank you
