Very Nice Kiln unload! Great Job! Nice Glaze Combos And Gotta say .... Mug Handles are refreshingly Unique!!!! You Go!!! Looking forward to next video!!!!!Had to giggle at the smoking mug . (Necessity is truly The mother of invention.) Again,,, Great first kiln opening!!!!! Thank You!
@kevindawson8778 thank you, it definitely was hotter than expected 👀 next glaze firing will be hopefully better adjusted. I wonder if should go 30 Fahrenheit down from the last peak temperature with a 5 min hold and then do a drop and hold ,after it dropped again 100 Fahrenheit with a hold🤔 My firing in this video was: at 1917 Fahrenheit I put a 20 min hold and at Peak was 2175 Fahrenheit 25min hold. New schedule would be next time Peak 2155F 5min hold. And then I would let it drop 2055F and hold it for 20min🤔 My kiln is brand new and fires really hot 🔥, have to find the perfect temperature. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it so much
@@sageymoodceramics I would have to work out those temps in Celsius as that’s what I work in but just remember it’s about heat work rather than temperature so every hold will be building up the heat work in the clay. Most of the reactions happen in the last 100 Celsius so be careful of holding at those temps if you already know it’s firing too hot. The only reasons I hold a temp are to help heal over any blisters or pin holes, or to build up crystals in the glaze. Hope this helps and good luck!
@kevindawson8778 I was reading about drop and hold, I will try that with just 5min hold to help against pinholes but also reduce a little bit the Peak temperature....thank you for your suggestion, I didn't know that the holding time does influence the actual heat work so much....sometimes less is more 😅
Thank you 🤗 pottery is exciting, I was prepared for disaster 😅. I love how the colors came out, but I could see on some pieces tiny little pinhole here and there - is that normal? I will definitely make a video about how I glaze ( I find glazing so relaxing) - I brush on my glazes, I tried to dip a mug and glaze was way too thick for that 🤦.
@briancurtis6022 Thank you for the video link. I have a bisque fire running right now with a few underfired bisque work and a few greenware pieces. I customized the fireing schedule with a slower fireing and drop and hold in the end....let's see if that helps. And I will be more patient with glaze layering 👀.
Congrats, great results overall! The muffin pan looks wonderful. What method do you use for applying glaze--dipping, brushing, etc.? That might make a good video too.
A good cone 6 on the top. Very nice. Good work.
Thank you 😊

And Great Muffin Pan!
Thank you so so much....it's so fun 😁
Love Sarah Walton also! Great kiln unload!
Thank you 😊❤
You have some amazing pieces! Loved your energy. You make me excited for the day I will eventually get my own kiln.
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me ( I was so nervous 😅)
So exciting to open a kiln, it doesn’t get old. The blue plate has blisters which is bloating, that means it was overfired.

@@sageymoodceramics I've heard that re-glazing pieces is also an option. But it's trickier, since already-glazed pieces are less porous.
@briancurtis6022 I was thinking about that too, I going to save a few pieces and make a whole pinhole firing 😅
So etwas schönes zu sehen, ist echte freute❤
Vielen lieben dank mama - liebe dich 🤗❤️
Gorgeous mug handles
Thank you 🤗
