    You can tell when Johnny gets excited about a game. He starts talking with his hands to really nail down the point.

    I would love nothing more than to see the footage from this game, you guys have such a great group dynamic

    Seeing "Die Crew" before realising it was the German cover made me think this was a whole different sort of game.
    Also, 'sadwiches' is great. I'll be saving that for future use.

    I'll be honest - for a moment there, I thought Johnny was saying the new planet was called the planet Scumbags.

    Why does Alex look like a Bond villain in that chair?

    I can see this working wonderfully as a legacy game.

    Disappointing sandwiches? I've recently discovered Chiodini's Kitchen and it confuses me how Johnny's sandwich could be disappointing, unless my head cannon that he still makes TF2 Sandviches for lunch is false?

    When I first click I thought they'd turned the open world racing game "The Crew" into a board game. This seems a more interesting prospect

      Ohh no one could defeat the God of driving in that game so they turned to something that can be won by other players

      hmmm you could probably retheme it to be that...

    surprised no one mentioned it already, but there is believed to be a "9th" (10th, because viva la pluto) planet in the solar system based on the way some of the further out objects in the solar system have weird orbits, but we haven't actually been able to find it yet

    Not table captain like but there is literally a captain of the table lol.

    • @marhawkman303
      @marhawkman303 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know what Lolies meant and when I've seen that happen it sometimes works, but sometimes fails because the captain didn't have as much info as they thought they did. This game kinda makes table captaining suicide since you NEVER have info.

    We played it a First Look at PAX. We really liked it...and it's quite difficult! Will definitely look out for it next year.

    Aww, sadwiches are the worst (not the wurst, because sausage sandwiches are.. grandwiches).
    I often have a hard time trying to imagine how a game plays by how it's described, so I look forward to a playthrough of this to get an idea of the flow of it.

    This sounds a very interesting game, will try to keep an eye out for it next year.
    The other game the communication reminds me of is Magic Maze, a real time co-op game of moving fantasy characters around a shopping mall, where the only way you can communicate is by tapping a red meeple in front of someone (it is shared). The twist of the game is that each player can move any character but only one player can move the character in a certain direction.
    I think Magic Maze would be a great game for a let's play (with lots of passive aggressive bordering on aggressive meeple tapping).

    Guys, I like the channel, but how many dice do you go through? Considering you break them all.

    You're basically describing the boxed version of Bridge.

      Except that you can play with 2, 3, 4 or 5 peeps. Also, often must try not to win some tricks. Also, a great variety of missions ranging from easy to hard. This game develops skills useful in many other trad trick-takers, such as Hearts, Spades, Wizard/Oh Hell, Five Hundred, etc. Note that some deals preclude success, but just redeal and go again. A lot of fun is The Crew.

    So they created a version of a hearts/spades/bridge type card game with their own brand paying cards? I love those games so I get why this might be fun but I can't see how it's that huge an improvement.

    • @StvRdhll
      @StvRdhll 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The games you mention are competitive, which is Ok. The Crew, however, is a cooperative game where you are all on the same team. The Crew requires and rewards all the same skills as traditional games but with the incentive that better players will help the less experienced to improve their skills, skills that are transferable to the more traditional card games.

    I'm not usually a fan of trick-taking in modern card games, however, sometimes it works. But yeah, not my favorite mechanic.

    • @StvRdhll
      @StvRdhll 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep at it. After a short while, you will develop rewarding meta-game skills, such as knowing when to slough, trump in, set up your partner (cooperation). Many trick taking card games become available to you. There’s a reason games like Bridge, Five Hundred, Euchre, Oh Hell/Wizard (a fantastic commercial version of Oh Hell) endure; they are so much fun and great for any after-dinner party. After playing some of these games, come back to The Crew and enjoy.
