Aftermarket parts are made by other brands. These are considered OEM upgrades. $70 for brass portal box is insane so let's hope the aftermarket kicks in with some affordable upgrades. Talking to you #Injora 😉👍

Sick 1/18 brushless! I got a few of those slt3 remotes from spektrum, i recommend to glue the power button to avoid it falling off. Will be using your link for sure.

New sub, awesome video, i hope you guys get more subs and grow the ch. I put my stock esc/rx in that tray but you have me rethinking about moving the batt there. Esc/rx weighs nothing so it makes more sense. I love how that brushless setup is working with the truck. I just got my truck and you've got me interested. For those newer to game, not me right , can you give pn or details on exactly what motor/esc combo you used?
I would also love to win another one for my nephew so we can crawle together as a team.
Thank you bro I appreciate the sub, I ended up using the furitek system that was made for the traxxas trx4m which ended up working out great, but I believe they make a specific system made for the ascent 18 from Furitek and they give us the option of a stock receiver to bind to our stock remote for extra $10, which I think in total with the optional receiver is about $160, and I got you down on the list
Man oh man I’m def interested in this truck!! As a single father with full custody to a little girl it’s hard to get out and bash and crawl like I used to. This truck would be so much fun for us to drive in the house and around the house outside. We could make some awesome courses together. I am really in love with micro crawlers from what I see on youtube and this one looks great. I wish I would have money to buy one and get into crawling. But unfortunately I live in Romania and I can’t even afford a micro crawler. Life is certainly harder in the balkans.😢

Looks awesome! I just got into RC crawling with a TRX4M. I set up a little course in our garden and got the whole family to try it, it was a ton of fun! Excited to see more about the ascent

You should do a video on Lexi bodies and plasty dip. I found that when you spray the inside of the bodies and use some flexseal tape on the corners and some edges, they are less likely to crack or even chip paint that plasty dip really cozy inside well. A few light coats……………3……….coats. Then the flex tape where the bumpers would be.

These are really exciting, definitely a great deal for what they offer and seems like a great and proven platform
Redcat deff did an excellent job on revising the truck to be an 1/18 scale
Did you install the redcat 12 tooth pinion gear on the mini Komodo motor and have you glued the pinion gear on shaft or the pinion gear have a set screw ?
I used the pinion gear provided with the furi tek system. The pinion gear comes installed already
@@RockSideRC The pinion that come with the furitek for the trx-4m have 11 tooth and the ascent 18 have 12 tooth. The motor mount have fix mesh or you can adjust ?
@samintrepid on the ascent 18, it is a fixed application. You can’t adjust the motor on the mount since it’s fixed

What pinion did you use
I referenced the instructions from furi tek and it doesn’t mention what pinion gear was used, but whatever pinion was supplied with the furi tek system is what I used
