Your review was very informative. Now I want an Eddie but I have never decorated a cookie before. Your bunny cookies are so cute. Thanks for sharing.

It did take me a couple of weeks to unbox him, but some of that was intimidation of the setup. It did take me longer than anticipated, but my *only* regret is that I waited so long to purchase him. While I agree he is a great addition to my cookies business, I do think there is beauty in both hand decorated and printed.
Also love the sprinkle tray which I purchased after recommendations from more than one baker. So far so good - I’m incredibly happy with my purchase.

Thanks, Lisa, for the honest review. #usererror is my favorite term when discussing Eddie since usually mistakes occur due to my misuse or misunderstanding! Love Eddie and he has been another tool in my cookie pocket!!

I bought the Eddie because my hands are very painful and by doing part of my cookie decorating with the Eddie I’m able to continue doing cookies. I’ve had no problems with the Eddie. I use it mostly for writing and some background images instead of constantly airbrushing. I love the sprinkle trays.

Thanks for this review! I’m one of the people struggling with Eddie at the moment and feel like there’s some element of luck to getting a well-behaved printer (printers in general are kind of terrible). But there are plenty of folks who’ve owned theirs for years and LOVE them so I’m optimistic that Eddie will be my friend at some point as I continue to dedicate time to troubleshooting and learning. It’s kind of like royal icing. I’ve spent years tweaking my recipe to what works for me and lots of people will have to do the same with Eddie.

Don't give up! Eddie is awesome once you figure out the tricks and what works best for you. Eddie came to live with me almost 1 year ago and I learn new things all the time. I just learned that not removing the white background on pngs/jpgs is what was causing the phantom 'bleeding' that would occur hours after printing. Eddie senses that there is a background and will print what is not visible to the naked eye; this often develops hours after the printing is finished and can be mistaken for bleed. Eddie can be such a time saver and a very valuable tool for your cookie business :)

Would you mind sharing your pricing recommendation? I’m going to purchase an Eddie and wasn’t sure if I keep the price consistent with my royal icing prices or if I increase it for logos, etc. I know it’s a broad question- just trying to figure out where to start. Thanks for your honest review; much appreciated!!!

I keep the same pricing for printed vs not. My cookies start at $5 each for a basic 3 inch design - with a 2 doz min order. I'm in northern california :)

I have used Eddie with both . You have to use a computer, not a mobile device, there is a list of bare minimum equipment requirements on the Primera website :)

Thanks for such a thorough review! Been debating over saving for one. Have to say though, it sounds a bit disappointing to spend so much on one and Then have to spend even more on accessories needed for proper execution! 😕

I compare it to when edible images came out. Everyone was afraid that no one would want fondant figures or decorations any more. It is a choice and it is both what each person aesthetically likes and also final cost. I have costumers that hate edible images because they are so flat and they want the dimension that hand made/sculpted items give the cake.
