Stage 3 kidney disease my husband has diabetes high blood pressure..just recently found out he has no more medicade with that then his other health insurance stopped working
I'm close to 62 and temporarily disabled until I get my hip replaced. I've had no income for over 2 yrs and never knew I could get health insurance thru Magi. No one told me I could be covered for free until my mom's friend told me about it. Been covered for 6 months now, luckily. But what sucks is that even with my SS I'll be getting starting in Feb., I'll still be able to get Magi, which is great, but it gives me no hope to work part time. I can work PT and still be under my SS limits, but over Magi limits. 😒 So who wants to work PT on SS just to buy medical insurance? Basically, I'll only be able to work one day a week to stay under Magi limit. At least that's how I understand it.
Hello Blanca! We help only with applications for Medicaid for long-term care (nursing homes, assisted living, home care). If that is the kind of care you need, please give us a ring at 415-854-8653 or fill in this contact form: www.eldercareresourceplanning.org/contact/. We will be able to give you more information on how we can assist you then.
My mother-in-law fractured her arm in June 2023. She went to the Emergency Department. Now she has this huge hospital bill. Her Medicare didn’t start until July 2023 (since that’s when she turned 65) and they said they don’t retropay and only MediCal does. She has $60k in her savings account as her only asset, plus what she gets from SSI which is about $900/month. Does this $130k asset limit apply for hospital bills or just disabled patients?
--Right now in Las Vegas, Medicaid is base on income/month for the current year 2024. Not 2023 TAX Income. Almost every body is covered b’coz of Covid. Now only the children under 15YO . They said it’s like a new law.
When Medicaid is eliminated the middle class will find out it was a mistake as low paid employees become less reliable. Anyone hiring part timers, usually small businesses, to avoid paying health benefits are going to take the biggest hit. It's not just the workers but those who hire them. People are going to come in sick and cause accidents, spread infections, or die suddenly because don't go to a doctor until they need an ambulance.
You didnt say the "HOW MUCH " PART.
Limit is 1,300
Thank you, I am assuming SSA retirement too @@shirlburris-fg8eq

Better take your money out of your bank if you owe a hospital thousands. Hospital can withdraw money out of your accounts through a lawyer
Crazy how they count social security as income
How far back does Medicaid look into your banking to see how much money you got after you apply?
3 Yrs 🙂
I think the income asset threshold is $2,000 and the state allows one $30 a month personal allowance. Socks huh?
You didn't say whether it's income before or after taxes.😢

That's the dumbest shit I ever heard, and I'm a republican.
And how would the low income have Medical Care LIKE ALL OTHER NATIONS OF EARTH DO?
lol This dude's gotta be a Russian bot.
Yep, I agree with it. Eliminate Medicare. And make medicine free for everybody!
