    One may have eligibility back to the date of submission, however they may not receive payment upon service rendered if an admission TAN is not similarly submitted. This is specific to Long Term Care in a nursing facility.

    Thank you for your great videos. My parents receive Medicare and Texas QMB (Medicaid) to pay for their remaining doctor expenses. I wanted to buy a house for my parents. I wanted to know if the medicaid estate recovery program will confiscate that house if my parents passed away or the house pass to us children without any problem. My parents are NOT planning to live in any nursing home or long term living facility paid by Medicaid. What can I do to make sure the house is transferred back to us children without any problems….

    My mother-in-law fractured her arm in June 2023. She went to the Emergency Department. Now she has this huge hospital bill. Her Medicare didn’t start until July 2023 (since that’s when she turned 65) and they said they don’t retropay and only MediCal does. She has $60k in her savings account as her only asset, plus what she gets from SSI which is about $900/month. Does this $130k asset limit apply for hospital bills or just disabled patients?

      Better take your money out of your bank if you owe a hospital thousands. Hospital can withdraw money out of your accounts through a lawyer

      When Medicaid is eliminated the middle class will find out it was a mistake as low paid employees become less reliable. Anyone hiring part timers, usually small businesses, to avoid paying health benefits are going to take the biggest hit. It's not just the workers but those who hire them. People are going to come in sick and cause accidents, spread infections, or die suddenly because don't go to a doctor until they need an ambulance.

    Wow, community's income has set prices

    • @EldercareResourcePlanning
      @EldercareResourcePlanning ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes indeed! It's worth knowing that this limit only exists in the main Medicaid application. Community spouse's income is not taken into account in Medicaid renewals. Also, if the applicant spouse isn't going to transfer any income to the community spouse under the spousal impoverishment rules, there is no limit on the community spouse's income.

    • @EldercareResourcePlanning
      @EldercareResourcePlanning 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Laura! I believe that the process you're talking about is called recovery. Medicaid recovery means that the Medicaid authorities are entitled to a portion of the Medicaid recipient's estate after their passing. Here is a short video we have on that: th-cam.com/video/MvkmO29_AIk/w-d-xo.html. There are some Medicaid-compliant ways of protecting the estate from recovery. They vary state-to-state and case-to-case. Please give us a call at (415) 854-8653 or fill out this contact form: www.eldercareresourceplanning.org/contact/ for a free, no-strings-attached consultation. Our representative will discuss the details of your situation to see what can be done to protect your house.

      In some states, family can be sued if they deliberately sabotage the Medicaid application. This is based on some existing family responsibility laws in this area.

    I’m trying to get Medicaid. I’m a widow and I’m 60. 5 months ago I transferred my home to my son. I am NOT seeking long term care just regular doctors visits and medication. I’m under the financial requirements. I’m just confused about the 5 year wait

    • @EldercareResourcePlanning
      @EldercareResourcePlanning 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Sarah! The 5 years you're mentioning is probably the look-back period. It's a period of time prior to your application in which the Medicaid office will review all of your expenses. If they find any expenses that are not allowed by Medicaid, they might approve your application, but delay the payment of your benefits by a few months or even a year, depending on the size of those expenses. If you'd like to learn more about the look-back period, have a look at this video: www.eldercareresourceplanning.org/what-is-the-look-back-period/. We do specialize in Medicaid for long-term care, so unfortunately we won't be able to help you in applying for other Medicaid programs. If long-term care is something that you might need in the future, give us a call at 415-854-8653 . One of our specialist Benefits Associates will get in touch with you to arrange for a free initial consultation and discuss your particular case in detail.

We have lots of new videos where the sound quality is better here www.eldercareresourceplanning.org/webinar/ and on our Facebook page facebook.com/ECRPlanningLLC/ To answer your questions - Generally, you are allowed $2,313 monthly in income and $2000 in total assets. But each case is different and we would be happy to speak with you about your specific situation.
