I've never had the pleasure to play Kingdom Hearts, but you can completely get a feel for the raw power of the game by listening to this song. Simply amazing!
i totally agree! I too play the french horn, and am playing this song at my high school, and it just sounds so awesome! French Horns are ALWAYS the part to listen to, lol.
Seriously that was amazing. The timing in that video was incredible! I loved when Bambi's dad showed up and the music changed at the same time. Great transition. Top it all off with one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written and you get a very well done performance.
fantastic, this song always makes me happy and the fact that these guys are doing it makes it all the better. i liked the clips, dispite other people hating them...
I got goosebumps listening to this, every second of the song and disney montage brought a tear to my eye, because as a kingdom hearts fan, I didn't just play the game, I lived it, and looking back, it makes me want to relive it all over again. (: Sora, where's your next adventure going to be? Dram. Drop. Distance.
The first time that VGL showed footage of the Disney films, was at the concert that I went to (Which was my first concert) was in Boulder, Colorado. Can't wait for them to come back next year!
I love this piece- Its a motivational and moving song for me. I also like how the symphony plays in sync with the actions on the screen( lion king moment) or Aladdin! Golf clap to Capcom, Disney, and the songwriter.
im not gonna lie... the first time i heard this song in kh the original in like 02 or 03... i immediately labeled it as epic and this orchestra just did and amazing job with it. beautiful. :)
everytime for some reason I hear this or the orchestra version of the theme for kh 2 or even the part of the song from kh 2 where roxas floats down in the water I get a lump in my throat
Such a nostalgic piece! I still play these great games! And I'm so excited for Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMiX... BUT WHEN THE HELL WILL KINGDOM HEARTS 3 COME OUT
When they came to the Wolf Trap in Virginia with the National Symphony Orchestra, i was so dissapointed that they showed no actual clips of the Kingdom Hearts games! I man, it isnt all Disney and it isn't all Square Enix. They showed ACTUAL KH clips the last time they came to our Wolf Trap, why couldn't they do it this year too?!!?! Oh well, It was still AWESOME!!!! :D
When music of any kind can stir emotions as deep as this music can for me, it must be strait from the very essence of life and love. Gay I know, but I don't have to many shining moments of wisdom or emotion so dleh!!!
I can't be-leave this company almost filed for bankruptcy in 1990 when they came out with there first master piece Final Fantasy on Nintendo, man those were the days. This is what dreams are made of and the creators of Square Enix have come along way. I am glad they are still around.
Hikari came first as a song individually. It was a hit in Japan, but my guess is that Square made her sign a deal to make her release it after the game came out. Then they made a orchestral version to use in the game as a background. However, both songs are in the game.
I love that they showed footage from the movies instead, more of the personality of the characters presented themselves. Yes, no Sora, but the game wasn't all about Sora, it was also about the different worlds.
this song and aerith's theme orchestrea version they always get to me T-T i think this version would be a good kairi's theme...it starts of weak and unsure but gradually gets stronger and stronger like she did during the course of the games
OMG i wish i was there!, i Love this song, its my most Favourite from the KH series cause it just makes you feel so good! Orgasmic some would say lol nah only jokin, that would just be creepy...
I know that some people might say "this kind of stuff is for nerds", But that's not true. The music for our favorite games, even the games themselves, are now one of the highest forms of pure art nowadays, especially when played like this. From Mario to Halo, this music will be as timeless Beethoven and Mozart, because when you hear the music... ... you live it.
The women who composed this song also did Super Mario RPG and the Mario and Luigi series. You should notice some similarities in some of the battle music.
It's fairly amazing that the ensemble can fill up that entire hall, as the hall looks pretty huge from what I can tell... However, I really wish they'd actually shape the music. Every phrase, for the most part, was simply loud the entire way through. With more musicality, not only would it be impressive that there's an orchestra that can play video game music, but then play it well. =S
@zizn8r Well, you may say that, but I see it as the sign of a VERY well-developed plot line. The fact that the game has that much back-story to it is a testament to the fact that Kingdom Hearts is just as, if not more, complex and engaging as any movie or book out there.
@zizn8r But Birth By Sleep fills in as to why Sora went on his journey, how he, RIku, and Kairi were able to wield keyblades, and gives a reason as to why Xehanort is getting his ass whooped in KH3.
I always get teary eyed at this song. *sniff* it really makes me proud to be a Disney and video game fan.
I've never had the pleasure to play Kingdom Hearts, but you can completely get a feel for the raw power of the game by listening to this song. Simply amazing!
ahhh....nostalgia...this song is so serene and tranquil, i love this.
I'm so lucky to have been there in person, even years later this gives me the chills.
It's crazy how well the composer managed to combine elements of Square's RPG's and Disney's sense of magic and wonder so easily. Great music.
i love this orchestrated version. whenever i hear it i feel so hopeful and happy. I LOVE KH
i totally agree! I too play the french horn, and am playing this song at my high school, and it just sounds so awesome! French Horns are ALWAYS the part to listen to, lol.
I absolutely love the sforzando in the middle! Gives me chills each time I hear it.
Wow, this brings back so many memories man. It's just awesome to see this and it almost made me cry too... those days!
Seriously that was amazing. The timing in that video was incredible! I loved when Bambi's dad showed up and the music changed at the same time. Great transition. Top it all off with one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written and you get a very well done performance.

BEST VIDEO GAME SERIES OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!

@zizn8r Birth By Sleep is actually pretty important to the main story, especially later if the ending of Re:Coded is any indication.
@zizn8r Well, you may say that, but I see it as the sign of a VERY well-developed plot line. The fact that the game has that much back-story to it is a testament to the fact that Kingdom Hearts is just as, if not more, complex and engaging as any movie or book out there.
i honestly think ingdom hearts is the best game ever. the music just like makes you feel happy and sad at the same time
15 of the heartless managed to sign up for youtube accounts. None of us are safe!
@zizn8r
