I hope and pray that other games don't follow in God of War's footsteps and try to kill gameplay depth. It's for reasons such as this why we need Devil May Cry 5 now more than ever, but even then I'm not entirely sure that game will be left intact either. Mechanics should be at the forefront of a game, not bloated cinematics. These games aren't games, they're products for people who don't like games and people who want to throw away integrity just to get some form of validation.

But I haven't actually played it yet, as the majority of the gaming public also hasn't, so I'll reserve judgement until then. This video I made was based on the limited marketing that I had access to, which wasn't much. And these problems were apparent in that footage. I feel the video I made was completely fair and balanced in my opinion, so don't get so salty about it, it just looks sad. This video stays up and I don't feel bad about it.

Matured and realistic? I can't tell you how much it angers me when someone makes such an argument. Don't talk about realism when it comes to videogames because it''s just silly. Even if one day we will have life like games played in holodecks they still will be games and very unreal. Besides if you want realism every strike with sword or sharp object would be deadly. The one who gets to land the first strike would win immediately. If the new combat is supposedly matured that means the old combat was childish? If you mean simplistic then yes. The whole point of spectacle fighters is the quick combat and being able to dish out the most ridiculous combos. It's what made and make those games fun to play. I don't like the style of the new God of War. I am sure it's packed with some gaming goodness but I don't care much for it. Everything looks slow. The whole over the shoulder perspective limits your movement and freedom. But I will reserve my opinion until I actually get to play the game.
Terence Awolola like I said, it's matured...for matured players not your typical hack and slash game. The story telling is nice...I love it! It's normal for it not to appeal to everyone, but it doesn't mean it's not an excellent stuff that it is.
I'd rather have a great story than a bunch of repetitive nonsense that's just busy work. It should feel like the things you do matter overall. It sounds to me like you just aren't a big fan of God of War which is totally fine but I think you're way off on this one.

I love most all types of games but you can only do pointless things for so long before it starts to ruin the fun. I don't mind some repetition but sometimes developers kill the fun making it feel like a chore.

I've played every God of War and every game is subjective. I'll admit i was disappointed when first hearing about the changes but after playing the game my disappointment has faded. So keep it moving loser and go play something else.
