I found "toolster" on Facebook. It notifies you on your FB feed, of tool deals, clearance, etc. Various stuff. I think its great. Ive bought numerous tools from Home Depot, Amazon, that were put on clearance and notified. Those Bessey clamps, i got a 4 pack from Home Depot, for 9.97. Should have gotten more. But, I think its a another avenue for great deals. Thanks for the great video.

Thanks for the information... Here is my 2 cents.... Before I drop any of my hard-earned money at any of those big box stores or online sources, I always make a run to my local Pawn Shops.... You would be surprised of the kind a great deals you can secure from those locations.... My shop could be described as a potpourri of tools due to all the different brand that I have but, they all work great and did not cost a small fortune to acquire.... Keep those videos coming and have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving.

Could you come up with a few pointers on where to find the best deals on things like casters, t-tracks, drawer slides, screws (yes even Kreg screws differ in cost depending on the source), clamps, etc. The budget busters.
It kills me to put $25 worth of casters on a cart that was made with $15-20 of wood.

If you don't mind used tools, pawn shops are a great place to find tool deals too. I recently scored a $100 Makita (RT0701C) trim router for $30. The thing runs like a charm. Oh, and I got a $130+ Bostitch (SB-1850BN) nail gun for $25 from another shop. Both work perfectly. You can barter with pawn shop owners, especially if a product has been sitting on their shelf for quite a while. The router had been sitting there since May, so he had it discounted by 25% There is usually a date on the label they place on the item. They're required to do this by law as they also report tools to local police departments so they don't end up selling stolen stuff. Also, ask about their return policy. Most shops are pretty fair. The guy who sold me the nail gun didn't have a way for me to test it in the shop so he gave me 48 hours to test it and let him know. He was willing to give me a full refund if it didn't work. But, like I said, it works perfectly. Another place is Yard Sales. These are where I've gotten most of my smaller tools. The rest I inherited from my Grand-father then Father. My newest "Big" tool is from the 80's. The oldest is from 1943. They all work. One day I would love to get a sliding miter saw, but for now my Ryobi (TS1340) works fine. I just keep it tuned. If I had one of the newer Ryobi's, I'd probably want to upgrade it sooner. Eventually I'll get a cabinet style table saw, but my Craftsman contractor saw (from the 60's) does a great job. Very accurate cuts. Again, I keep it tuned. If it works there is no need to replace a tool. That's my advice to anyone just starting out. There are times to upgrade, I won't deny that.
On another note, keep track of all of your model numbers and serial numbers just in case something does get stolen. Mark your tools if you can. Like I said about pawn shops, they file reports to the police. A lot of stolen items end up at the pawn shop and if you don't know the numbers on your tools, new or old, they can't help you find them. I have a friend in the jewelry pawn business. I've learned a lot from him.

Good video, as usual. Especially liked the part about telling others to read their bible every morning! Have a couple questions for the next shop tour...organization tips, dust collection system, and how do you keep your neighbors from getting upset with you running power tools all the time? Maybe its just me, but I've been working in half of a two-car garage with retired neighbors for about a year now and I can tell its wearing on them. Also, you totally can make room for that husky tool box...my hubby has that exact one and loves it!

Looking back, if I got to time-travel back a few years and give myself tool advice, I would say build/buy a pantorouter ASAP. Its quite a investment in time or money, but would have saved me getting a mortise machine, a festool domino (the two together cost more than a new metal pantorouter!) and countless other things that sit gathering dust now I've got the panto. So many things you can do with it, but get good dust extraction! Ripping a router all the time causes TONS of fine dust 🤧

Be unique. Find a product that you can make uniquely yours. If you can make your product stand out, it’ll sell if it’s something people want. That’s the key. Finding what people want and is unique. It takes time. Hang in there

One thing to be aware of is getting tools that are no good or damaged. Very good video and I appreciate your efforts. What youthink about counterfeit tools. I just bought a Stanley miter saw and it has no numbers on it anywhere. It won't even soft pine. Amazon won't take it back because it's been thirty days. Stanley won't take it back because it has no numbers. I even used points from my Vets Prevail course to pay for it. It was a little less than $40.00 but that is a lot of money in my case. This ever happen to you? Do I just take it as experience and throw it away? I think beware of buying online? Your advice is appreciated. However, caution should be used when buying online. Thanks SPS

$40 for a miter saw? I'd say one rule of thumb is that if the price looks, not just really good, but way too good to be true ... it probably is.

@@TimGallant It is a manual saw hand operated. with pegs to hold the wood. found it on Amazon, but I am sure it is not real. Lesson learned "Next time go to the store and look at what you are buying". I still cannot believe it is a Stanley Saw, because it just won't cut anything. It must be something because five days after emailing Stanley Tools they still have not answered my questions. You are correct if it seems too good to be true it probably is. Thanks and have a good day.
