The bracelet is a Bonklip (type) bracelet, and as bracelets go its pretty much the OG. Perfectly correct for a field watch from early to mid last century.
Very popular watch bracelet style amongst WWII Luftwaffe pilots. For many years they were almost impossible to source. Nice to see that they are making a comeback.
I just sold all my watches including my expensive ones. Ended up getting the Casio G Shock GW5000U1jf. The Japan made one. Does all I need super comfortable and no charging or winding or maintenance. No brainer. I will miss the watch collecting rabbit hole, I can still watch TH-cam videos lol 😅
Watch #3 - Bonklip (UK) style bracelet - Worn one for years. Popular in the 1940's-1950's. There were also USA produced versions. Very glad they are available again from at least two companies as mine from the late 1940's is quite worn from daily use. Also instantly adjustable.
I used to have a bonklip on a 1950s vintage watch and was great in summer super lightweight and extremely comfortable glad to see someone is remanufacturing them again Best wishes to all 🧑🎄
The Seiko GMT is an absolute banger. I bought one a few weeks ago and it has barely left my wrist. I'm wearing it on an Alpha bracelet, the strap stayed in the box. It's the first watch I've owned in 3 years and 200+ purchases and sales that I can see myself getting old with. Love it.
@@JustOneMoreWatch do try an alpha bracelet, or spend a bit and go for an Uncle or miltat bracelet, it's worth it. On a bracelet, it really gives off GMT explorer 2 vibes
The bonklip bracelet would have to be one of the most comfortable I’ve ever had on a watch Jody! I bought the Nivada Grenchen Super Antarctic last year & ordered it with this bracelet. Very much in keeping with the vintage era of that watch. But on that military Merkur it looks crap. I like the Baltic too. The Seiko Alpinist is very nice Oh & that Laco, yes please!🤤😍Nice travelling selection.👍🏼
Thanks for sharing as always. I thought for split second you were just taking four different colors of the Erebus Origin! I actually like that Laco. Wish it was a little smaller though. As for the UTC, a quick round of antibiotics will take care of that. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
Merry Christmas, Jody! FWIW, I've heard that you can manually wind the Baltic, but it has to be done in the recessed position, flush with the case. Also, the bracelet on the Merkur seems to be based off Serica's Bonklip bracelet
Dig the Laco, not so much the other three. The Hermetique is the first Baltic I never saw myself buying - mostly because of the crown. Merry Christmas, J, and safe travels 🎄
That Seiko looks fantastic! Hope you had a great time during the Holidays. Hope you have continued success in 2024 with your reviews AND your Erebus Watches. Cheers!!
I do like the Baltic watch a lot. The Seiko Alpinist GMT is quite nice. I have been on the hunt for a nice GMT - one of the few more common watch types I don't have in my collection. The other two pieces... I just can't see myself appreciating them.
Never really got on with pearlon, im a bit of a prude..like them all but, Love that Mekur and the Laco wich was on my radar anyway but probobly gonna go Bulova for my gmt....Happy Christmas matey.
I own the same Baltic and I love it! Please try it on a black leather strap, too, I think it also looks very nice and even more elegant that way. Btw. I just wind the crown in the pushed in position, it is not the most ergonomic action, but it gets the job done. Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
The Merkur looks like a strong contender for Marathon's Officer watch! Looking forward to that review...hopefully with that same Marathon side-by-side if possible. Safe travels and Merry Christmas to you and your growing family. ~Toby
That Merkur with the Bonklip bracelet reminds me a bit of Serica's field watch. If the price is right, with that Tritium, you might convince me to buy it. I like the weirdness.
Come on Baltic! Another frustrating watch. Didn't buy the last one due to the acrylic! And not being able to manually wind it kills this lovely watch for me. Merry Christmas!
Nice selection and there is a strange vibe indeed going on. The Alpinist is a gem but above my means. The Baltic is OK but not my cuppa tea. The Laco is interesting. The bezel is almost the reverse of that Mathey-Tissot you looked at. That had a 3-hand works with a GMT style bezel. The Laco has a 4-hand works with a diver countdown bezel. Hmm. Now the Merkur is very interesting. That bracelet looks like it was made out of paperclips, though. Otherwise most interesting. Safe travels and a Merry Christmas to you and the family. Looking forward to more great videos come the new year!
Very curious about the tritium model. I like tritium for a night watch, but for that purpose, a quartz model would be far more practical. Will you review before sale is overV
It would be difficult to assemble a more diverse group, but I must admit that after just a quick look at 3 of them, I like them all! Merry Christmas, Jody. And safe travels.
You’ve got yourself some odd ducks there! That recessed crown looks so amazing but why couldn’t they have made it at least a two-stepper so you can wind the movement? My Seiko Kinetic GMT was enough to make me realize if I had to wiggle it all the time I’d go nuts! Cheers mate, and have a great holiday!
The Bonklip bracelet immediately made me think of paper clips. The watch head is a straight rip of the Marathon 36mm Officer's Mechanical watch, which has been sold out on their website for some time. I like the Hermétique well enough---Baltic's a bit optimistic with their pricing, and I've read about some consistent qc issues on their end. The Laco is very different, maybe to the point of being ridiculous, and the Alpinist GMT is nice, but seems a bit bloated. Otherwise, everything looks great. Happy Hols!!!!
The bracelet is a Bonklip (type) bracelet, and as bracelets go its pretty much the OG. Perfectly correct for a field watch from early to mid last century.
I bought one of those Merkur bonklips for my Baltany Type B Chrono. Works great!
Forstner still makes the OG they call it a
Ladder bracelet

If only the watch wasn't a homage to a military watch issued in the '80s...

I think I need to switch the strap, because I'm struggling with the proportions atm. I'll play when I get home. Cheers!

I haven’t been sold yet on any of their GMT designs. So far the Seiko 5 GMT would be my pick if it had 20mm lugs and sapphire crystal
@@LawryBoyer there is a new Seiko 5 GMT field watch just released this week. This alpinist one is really quite brilliant though.
@@NotoriousK_I_T the JDM version of that watch calls to me, polar explorer ver. nice
Serica watches has been offering the Bonklip bracelet for awhile…I think it looks awesome!
I love the look of that Baltic with the warm brown coloured case. And the Merkur is weird for sure. But in a cool kind of way.
hey hey hey, I love those mid century expandables. They're so amazingly tacky, they're gorgeous. Never had a problem with one taking off hair either.
I guess I like what you call weird. What a relief from all the Seiko diver clones.
I had a swiss West End Watch during 70s with the same type of bracelet.
The Laco seconds hand hitting the markers perfectly is so satisfying.
the first two look great, have fun storming the castle
Just one more watch video before the end of the year!
This is awesome! I love the international flare to this group especially for the holidays...watch guys can lead the world in peace. We love everyone.

I have that exact Bonklip for my Praesidus A-11. They are sooo freaking comfortable
Laco Atacama Auto been on my list to get. Love the tactical look of it and German made.

The third watch bracelet is one of my most favorite bracelets, i think first brand who used this kind of bracelets is "west end watch co" in 60s
The Baltic is just gorgeous, especially in that color. It’s definitely on the (growing) list….
Reminds me a bit of the Helm Miyako
@@careykimmelstiel183 which I just recently bought. I definitely have a style…
Hey Jody, I can't find the unboxing of the Seiko Alpinist. You said you just did that recently. Do you have a link for me? Thanks
My favorites are no surprise, the Baltic and of course the Alpinist
Merry Christmas, and all the best to you and your family Jody
The case shape and lug system of the Laco reminds me a lot of the Oris Williams ref 7613 from '08
Happy Holidays! 🎄Thank you very much for another year of great content! 🙏🏻 Cheers to the whole JOMW fam! 🤗
Cool selection! Merry Christmas to all!
Great diversity of selections. Is the Alpinist running fast or is it set so You always leave 5 minutes early?
Merry Xmas to Jody and family , and to everyone one else reading this comment hope you all have a great time

Best for the Christmas Holiday for you and your family. Be Happy, Be Joyous and Be Safe.
That Baltic looks superb. Could take some trade off the Smiths Commando/Expendition.
I look forward to seeing the review of the Merkur. Looks like a decent affordable alternative to one of the Marathon field watches
