This song was epic and brilliant, like most of their music. The music of Wintersun for me definitely requires an investment of time and focus. It is meditative, contemplative music, where I need to lie down with my headphones on and let it take me away to another place. This one was an emotional rollercoaster, starting intensely and gradually winding down to a peaceful ending.
So much epicness here. The drums were non-stop, which isn't always my favorite, but I kind of liked it on this one. The piano was such a great addition. Loved the guitar solo. The vocals were great, both growls and cleans fit well.
Great reaction man, thank you. 😃👏🏻🤘🏻 It’s shocking to me that even with intensity of the album, it’s so easy to listen to! A surprisingly emotive album for many of us. So fear not you are not alone in your emotional responce to the songs. Lyrically the album is almost a lament to the struggle of completing the album. But seemingly the lyrics are a decade old. Love your work dude. 🤘🏻
Remember, the voice in your head which tells you that you're dumb is wrong! It's the only dumb thing about you, and it is not you - it was put there by what the world has done to you in the past. It doesn't deserve any of your attention in the present. Sending virtual hugs.
The sun always seems to shine the brightest after the storm. This song felt like the best parts of Eternal Darkness and Loneliness from The Forest Seasons album all rolled into one, and then some. Jari's songwriting is as strong as ever but you can hear some personal frustration and pain in this one specifically, and I'd argue that can elevate a song to heights you just can't reach otherwise. I was not prepared for Silver Leaves, and neither are you. It's the perfect ending to the 12-year journey that was Time, and I'm not ashamed to say I couldn't hold back the tears on that one.
I've been listening to this song non stop everyday since it dropped. It's been nearly 2 months and everytime I feel like is the first time I hear it for the emotions it brings. It really is a piece of art.
Awesome reaction! To think that this and the other songs in the Time albums were written and recorded already in 2006, it makes me excited about the future albums. It's hard to imagine him topping these songs, but Jari himself said that in his opinion there's better stuff coming and I'm sure his skills today are much better so I trust him on that.
Good news is these lyric videos are the only place where the mix sounds so off. Literally any other format (CD, Vinyl, even the official audio from youtube music) sound the way they should and it is insanely better. The second listen of this album will make your jaw drop I bet. Awesome reaction as always
There is reasons to be critical about the album, especially with the mixing. I don't mind it, but I wish some guitar parts were louder. Even with that, through my dozens of listens, it has grown to be one of my favourite album. Time I is will my favourite album from Wintersun
Nice one, for some reason i have hard time hearing the vocals in your reactions. The audio level seems to be lower for music than your microphone and i noticed this in some other reactions as well. Sounds like the outgoing EQ curve is a bit V shaped in your videos and cut's lot's of the middle away. Any way good stuff, and better get mentally ready for Silver leaves where Jari really opens up his struggle with flow of time and the end that cannot be escaped.
@@Jansku79 Yea I wish I understood that audio situation. When I go back and listen, it sounds fine. But dude I keep hearing so much of Silver Leeves. I can't wait.
All Time || songs were composed before 2006 and recorded before 2011, as far as I know. The only additions are "Fields of snow" and "Ominous clouds", which are basically intros anyway. "Storm" lyrics have nothing to do with time it took to release the album, it's about something else
sometimes you wonder, should i say something or not, you know? and even though i should not have maybe, i am gonna put it out here anyway: this song or any of the Time II album songs have NOTHING on the Time I album songs, just pointing that out there, it's about the melody and lyrics, and i can't describe, but Time I was way better, they seemed just more comitted, i don't care if i said things that other people may have thought, but not spoken, i also don't care that Jari put more oriental sounds in this album than he has on Time I, has nothing to do with the metal they portrayed on their first album, the emphasis of that oriental sound does lower the strength of the true beauty of Wintersun, and that's a big shame after this many years in my opinion for this Time II. These songs are just songs, not masterpieces like on Time I. I will even comment this to you @The Wolff And the Melody, in no way you can compare this song to time, or sons of winter and stars or loneliness, which i know you made reaction videos of, nor can you compare that with the way of the fire, or silver leaves, oriental sounds (no metal), it's simply 2 different kinds of things. These songs degrade their brilliance they have already shown on Time I After this many years, i expected way more of them, and yes, i pre-ordered this album, then, is their next album gonna fix that? we are gonna wait for another 6 years or so.... my gawd And this is my most favourite band of all times, go figure I will simply go watch your reaction video of "time" right now, cuz i already know your reaction of that was way better than this, or your reaction to loneliness, you know... just simple comparisons And i can already tell you, in your reaction to "loneliness (winter)"you were more baffled, just saying
