Hard to say, maybe he had some compressor on that skewed his listening, or he listened to it so much that he got used to the sound, in the end its just a small volume change and some little compression on drums, not really a sample or sounds used issue (that I read from other people in some places)
This is my favorite song on Time II as well. I've listened to your other mixes of The Way of the Fire and Silver Leaves and you did a really good job with it. I've gotten used to how Time II sounds after listening to it a bunch on different mediums, but your spin on it really breathes some life into it.
This is definitely the immediate stand out song of the album for me, and I can tell this will go down as one of my favourite Wintersun songs. I was glad to see it wasn't just me who took issue with the original mix. Yours sounds a lot better, in my opinion. I think I'll likely also make my own mix, as I think the shredding part in the beginning needs to be very prominent in the mix. Awesome work, mate!
I agree with that, had a tough time accepting it, but got used to it. Maybe in jaris vision its meant that way. Im sure that if they release a studio video or they play live they will increase the volume on that shedding. Its so sick.
This sounds good. Anyway, I listened to the album with my mobile phones headphones, and this is the first time (in a long time) that I really dwelled into trying to make the songs sound clearer by extensive eq re-adjustments. And indeed something what I ended up woth was quite far from the the classic v-shape. But still not perfect... So the album mix is a little bit challengign. But maybe with a really good living room hifi-system it sounds great?
i`ve been listening the album with different headphones and have noticed that with more "revealing" headphones the drums blend in more.... With V shaped EQ or some added loudness its a no go.
From all the remixes of the album that exist, yours might be the best one. Not 100% my taste (vocals are now too high to me) but still a very good job.
Could see that, tho playing with the tracks its very tricky as you take out a little more and the drums just gets eaten by the orchestra and the rest of the arrangement, mixing such dense songs is hard as you have to do lots of compromises
YOU DROVE ME INSANE!
Well done! Honestly, I don't know what Jari was thinking when he made the snare so loud in every single song.

Good to see that I wasn't the only one who noticed it and my first thought was "I need to tune down that snare a little bit.."
The solo beginning at 4:59 is absolutely jaw dropping!
Playing this as i drive into Hurricane Milton.
May The gods grant me safe passage through this great and unholy maelstrom.

I ended up making a mix and posted it if you're at all interested.
Thank You ❤ jari Riffs and melodic
Well done friend i like your édition
Not sure if the live version ruined it for me but the intro solo shredding part at 1:36 should absolutely be louder than that!

loved your work, any link for the lossless track mix?

Can you do the way of fire too 🫡
Yeah, I think I'll do the other songs too
Честно говоря, альбом в целом оказался сведен не очень. Вокал в оригинале и правда окался весьма тихим, как и гитары.
Отличный микс, бро!
Da fuq? Add in the middle of the song?!?!?!
Imagínate si Tuomas aprobechara a kay , yuca y a Floor que clase de disco llegaría a hacer...
Yes... Yeeees... If there is one criticism I have towards Time 2 it is the mixing - the drums are waaaaaaay too loud...
much bettter than original still think drums overpower vocals to much still

@@Pippus4 that i can understand. either way you doing real good work
They dont
The drums in this album are way too loud, indeed. Odd choice, tbh.
