Great video! I can't wait to there in summer. I'm planning to stay in Silverton with my family and just wondering how long it would take whole loop from there and also what areas to avoid just because it will be my first time and I don't want to scare off my kids especially my wife? Thanks
Freaking AWESOME. My family's(aunts n Uncles etc...) have been going to the silverton , Lake City Creede Area since the 70s. we missed the last 2 Years. Nice Drone video. Next time you up there try Imogene,Pycane and Kendall mountain. Its worth your time. We miss the mountains BAD. Hopefully be there the August. " Thanx Fer Sharin"
Just be careful. Most of my trips are solo as well but I always make sure someone knows where I'm going that day as a minimum. I also carry a Garmin InReach Mini and that thing is amazing! It allows two way communication and of course has an SOS button for emergencies. If you do a lot of solo trips I HIGHLY recommend getting one.
How long did it take to get back all the way to silverton? Do you think it’s possible to do the loop in 8 hrs? My in laws are renting a sxs and it’s a 8 hr rental … going for 4th of July and can’t wait!
I wouldn't do it. Not because the truck couldn't physically make it, but because it can get pretty narrow at times on shelf roads so there would be no room to pass other vehicles going the opposite direction. That and there are a couple sharp turns that would be difficult for a full size truck.
@@billwaterhouse5894 A full-size can do about any trail out there. It really depends on your driving skills. I've taken my down black bear pass and tons of other trails in Colorado that people thought were not possible. I can back up on anything and built my truck from the ground up. Most people barely use there Jeep anyway for off-road and can't compare to me out all the time. This guy is legit and a solid off-roader and cool but uses Jeeps.
Was that a GoPro or a camera phone on the intro. We're going to Silverton (3 Razors, 3 couples) in a few weeks. Very excited. Hope I bring everything I need. We're from Arizona.
Nice trials you got out there in Colorado, some years I will come to Colorado with my Polaris 700 sportsman to ride this beautiful trails, god bless you.
Don’t assume something is abandoned just because it is old. People own and pay taxes on a lot of these structures. And of course many claims were seized and stolen by our government or made obsolete because of zoning restrictions and regulations which obliterated owners’ rights.
Awesome ride. Silverton is my favorite place in the San Juan’s and a great base for wheeling the area.
It's beautiful, I love going there.

Can you put a link for the GPS map you use as well as the name of the map book you are using?
Great drone footage
Thanks 👍
I really need to make it back to Colorado, the beauty is beyond amazing there.

Man this looks awesome!
Do you think a full-size GMC 2019 Sierra can make that trip? It looks really tight in some areas.
I honestly can't remember. But I will say it's amazing what you can drive a vehicle through if you don't care about body damage lol
I have a shot glass that reads, “I survived the Alpine Loop.”
It was definitely a fun trail
@@CodeBrownProductions Looks like you never did have to go into 4-wheel drive?
did you air down at all for the alpine loop? Looked like a lot of it was pretty chill driving but still pretty rocky
I normally always air down, both for increased traction and increased comfort
Cool video! Keep up the good work
Can you give me any information stay up there and exactly where the trail head is so we can park a trailer?
Where are these cabins you stayed at? We are going during the 4th. Thanks

Definitely can do it in 8 hours
WHAT CABIN DID YOU STAY IN?
Thank for sharing, great video. Do you see any reason a full size pickup truck shouldn't attempt?

@@CodeBrownProductions thanks for that feedback, appreciated
Mostly depends on the skill of the driver.

On those narrow roads on the mountain cliffs, what do you do if you encounter a vehicle going the other direction?
Somebody backs up until you can pass. Normally uphill traffic has right of way, but it depends on circumstances.
The smallest vehicle gets pushed over the edge..

The only cameras I just are my DJI Mavic 2 Zoom and at that time I had a GoPro Hero 8. I now have the 9.

I use Gaia GPS and the books are by FunTrek. They are by far the best I've used.
@@CodeBrownProductions thank you so much! Love your videos and drone footage!! Keep the videos coming
@@CodeBrownProductions Do you need cell service to use this GPS?
@@gbrianmullinax8448 Not if you plan the route and download the map layers you need.
Where can you buy that book?
Amazon, just look up Fun Trex

Yeah, the government in Colorado really ruined the state
