Jerusalem Conservatory Hassadna String Orchestra - SCL Gala Winner's Concert 2018

Here is a rendition of “Yerushalayim de Lita" (Oleg Bogod) by the Jerusalem Conservatory Hassadna String Orchestra at the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival 2018 in Vienna at the Wiener Konzerthaus. The Jerusalem Conservatory Hassadna String Orchestra is conducted by Michael Gaisler.
The piece performed by the String Orchestra of the Jerusalem Conservatory Hassadna, has been composed especially for the SCL festival by the Israeli composer Oleg Bogod, in memory of the Jewish community of Vilna.
This community, which was the spiritual center of Eastern Europe and therefore known as 'Jerusalem the Lita', completly vanished in the holocaust.
Oleg was born in Lita and made Jerusalem his home. He dedicated this composition to this tragedy in human history.
