Just finished a re-watch of Girls and was really struck by Hannah's journey as an artist this go-round. It also hit me how truly exceptional the series was as a piece of television, which is why it got so much flack. Those girls were awful and real and I could map any character to someone I knew (or myself) in my twenties at any given moment. It made its mark, opening real doors for the representation of women on-screen. It's funny that Lena Dunham always talks about being so fearful, because putting everything out there just because no one else was willing to show it (or even see it) was a revolutionary act.

I agree, I watched Girls because of Adam Driver and wasn't disappointed at all. It was great, loved the show!

I agree completely! Well said! It breaks my heart that most won’t appreciate Lena until long after we are all gone. She misses occasionally (her 2022 movie was a complete miss) like any artist…but more often boldly moves forward in a very powerful and illuminating way.

I love Girls. I could watch it on an eternal loop and see something new each time. I hope we get another show from Lena.

Take solace in the fact that you’re somebody who thinks critically and logically based on your own moral and artistic compass, whereas most people puppet other people’s opinions that fall nicely on their ears

I want and need Lena to continue to write. Her writing to me surpasses Woody Allen and akin to Mike White. I loved Girls, loved Camping, love her podcasts and everything subsequent.

reading a book at a certain point literally means having an elongated pseudo masturbatory practice with a woman through physiological profundification in the moment at which it is most inconvenient.
and there she would finally know... feeling like you're dying can be the only way she should could ever have known what her most low moment felt like.
non-nadiric subjects always perform their ends in the middle in order not to emote in portions irrationally.

Dunham has absolutely nothing to offer. She is basically a one trick pony.
