My dad who’s a pilot met bobby at the toronto airport. dad told him that I was a young hockey player and absolutely adored Bobby Orr. Mr Orr said he’d send an autographed picture dedicated to me, after months and months of waiting we thought it was just words gone to the wind. But lo and behold we finally received that poster, dedicated to me that reads “good luck always, bobby orr #4”. Its one of my most prized possessions and is truly a testament to Bobby’s character.
I work in a small grocery store in Stowe, Vermont. Bobby’s son and grandson live here, unbeknownst to me at the time. While running the cash register a rather unassuming man comes through my checkout line. As I engage him in conversation I’m thinking to myself, “Is this guy Bobby Orr, my childhood hero?”. With him at the time was Bobby’s son. I look at him and he smiles knowing someone once again recognizes his Dad. I ask the man if he is Bobby Orr and he smiles at me and replies, “Yes I am.” I tell him he was my childhood hero and if I could get a picture with him. He smiled and said,”Of course!” I’ve met several pro athletes and movie stars but I have to say that Mr Orr was the nicest and most pleasant person I ever met. NUMBER 4 - BOBBY ORR!!!
Everyone says it its hard for people who have never met him to believe how the man outshines the Hockey Player truly a special person just ask anyone who met him

Met Bobby few times.....beyond nicest guy!!
I can attest to that having met Bobby a few times he is as genuinely nice off the ice as much as on the ice. The best ever.
He is a really good dude. He lives in my hometown of Sandwich MA

Most former athletes won’t bother to talk with fans much but met Bobby once and he’s a respectable guy.
