@@AnonTDegenerate Project Cartographer makes it better. Not only is the modding great, but it also makes it run much more stable, and it has support for mods. And most importantly for people with small SSDs, it has a reasonable size, no need to download 30gb.
I never thought I would ever see Elderwrito make a grand return. Funny to think it was this mod that convinced 343 to port MCC to PC, and I have no doubt Microsoft will come for it again. I'm definitely installing this and I really hope this gets some attention and more people start playing it. Lets make this become halo's version of Gmod.
I love MCC and everything it's brought to pc, but the death of Eldewrito was a terrible side effect. It's one of the best online Halo experiences. I have so many fond memories of Eldewrito, definitely going to reinstall now that it's regained popularity.

@@kabbablabba4073 Yes it is, you just need to use steam compatibility tools. Although I had issues getting the installer to work on my steam deck so I had to download it on my laptop, then I transferred it using usb. Maybe someone else has a better method, but so far so good

I played the El Dewrito mod a shit ton before it was shut down and MCC was announced for PC. Definitely an amazingly project and im so glad to see its back. Ill definitely be redownloading

Too bad Epic Games never handed over Unreal’s source code to the players so they could handle it instead of delisting those games from every storefront. A slight correction on Halo 5. It’s actually more comparable to Titanfall because that game popularized advanced mobility. Around the same time the CoD community (personally prefer that one purely because my boy Wingo got his start there. There’s this AMAZING video where my boy Da Gunt Ethan Ralph went onto the Lolcow Podcast and absolutely bodied Wings and Boogie. Those two got in a few good shots, but it was like watching Omni Man vs bootleg Justice League in the first episode of Invincible) was complaining about how the jet backs and wall running in Advanced Warfare messed up the core gameplay. Both groups weren’t fans of what happened to the core gameplay. With CoD it gets a little bit more leeway because there’s several side series’s that exist alongside each other. The Spartan Abilities in 5 would’ve been fine if it was a spinoff not a mainline entry, and if they properly designed the whole game around it. I should get around to playing this. I’ve heard that people are able to do campaign mods in it. That will be cool to see. Let’s hope that since Microsoft have other cash cows from the Activision Blizzard deal they’ll ignore this.

I think the reason why I'm as anti-Halo now in general as I am is just cause the community are just a bunch of lemmings. Can I really bring myself to associate with that Halo crowd over there? Probably not no, and the thing I find to be the icing on the cake is that you can tell Halofollower and even someone as wrapped up in 343 as Installation 00 don't even want to cover it anymore. They're burnt out. They backed the wrong horse they did. Not even they want to have a bar of Halo anymore.
Hiddenxperia used to be one of my fav halo creators. Then the game came out, he said it was bad and expressed how terrible he feels about the situation. (his take on the campaign is a bit bad imo) How infinite was going to be the thing that blows up his channel. 3 years later and he is still not at a million subs. I remember that being a new years resolution for him a while back. The thing that annoys me the most, is that he said he would branch out but to this day he is stuck doing the same thing over and over. Only damn halo. Halo has gone from something that i couldnt get enough of to something that puts me in a bad mood when i even start to think about it.

Halo has always been “competitive,” and emphasized it more than “casual” play. Look at H2 and H3’s launch playlists, majority was RANKED. What was more popular back in those days and really think about it: Jenga in custom games, or matchmaking ranked slayer. Halo CE had a LAN scene, wasn’t some “party game.”
Except it literally was and the people who made those games described it as such. Sure competitive was a part of it but it wasn't so hyperfocused like it is today. There was room for people to just explore the sandbox and have fun. @@linusnottech

i played eldewrito many many years ago, was fun but i never liked not having things to unlock via gameplay. Such as in mcc aswell where they completely removed the reason to hunt skulls in h2 where you could just activate its effects without having to find it first.
Sadly I think Halo is kind of dead. Sure the community keeps it alive with things like this in a sense but also Halo is a joke now. Nobody except for shills talks about it in any positive light, player counts are abysmal and the company behind it are greedy morons.
I'm not competitive so the multiplayer is not the priority for me but eldewrito Halo does look interesting especially since there are assets not present in other Halo games i.e. the Brute Chopper design. What I enjoy most is simply running or driving around in any Halo game doing whatever I want, piloting whatever vehicle I want, firing whatever weapons I want. Single player or multiplayer, Halo looks its best as an open world sandbox. Not so much as a linear road from start of a story to the end.
This is why I've been saying you can't really enjoy Halo on console anymore. I wish we had an ounce of this same passion and energy that some of these indie Dev teams have in 343 and Microsoft.
Had to pause the video half way through. I 100% agree with the use of mods, and they are ESSENTIAL to any game that wishes to live on for years to come. I stopped playing about 3 years ago but i think im going to be returning now that i am aware of this (Im late) . when you give a community tools, they deliver. absolutely brilliant what these guys have done. This is what i imagined halo being like when i was a kid thinking what halo would be in the future, not some skin buying simulator.
I did like this game but there was something off about how the sniping worked on kbm that was probably never fixed (e.g. like the fov being tied-in with the sensitivity somehow.) I showed evidence and got shrugged off. also, some server owner banned me because I was running through people in swat and said that I had "typical cheater behavior" by not responding in chat.
I want to see this mod combined with MCC then I think we would have Pete Halo and also read all the stuff that 343 got rid of like four players split screen
But then again you could probably put any studio instead of 343i and it would be better. I honestly dont think it could be any worse than it is right now. Saddest thing is that when the next halo is announced, itll be like 343i never did anything wrong. Never forget.

The worst part about the Eldewrito 0.7, is the uncertainty it brings. Not that it is a problem caused by the devs, but the fact that 343 will obviously shut it down eventually, so it is a lose lose situation in the end. Halo would be better dead and left to the fans by now, and it is so sad that I can say this without a hint of irony.

@@SherProductions11 They are P2P, so they can't get shut down, but what MS can do, and did on 0.6, is DMCA the team, to stop any future development, shut down the site with any download list, and ban it from appearing in any social media. If this happens again, 0.7 and any future it can get will die the second it gets, as well as any potential for Halo to ever be good.
If I recall, the real reason it was shutdown was not because of the project itself. Microsoft said that it could continue if they stopped using assets created and owned by Microsoft. So basically, the team said they were shutting down while they rebuilt most of the assets from scratch, and that, as soon as they finished, they would re-release eldewrito. So I think this is their re-release! Hopefully no more drama will ensue
343 has hated halo for a long time and it shows. They've just used the IP to push their own mediocre sci-fi universe. Halo infinite started going nowhere but uphill since Bonnie Ross got canned. That's not a coincidence.
Hard disagree on that last part. Really since Bonnie went all we've gotten are bare minimum amounts of content, half assed cross core, half assed not even true firefight, and drastically increased store prices.

They were planning to port MCC to PC as early as 2015. Eldewrito just accelerated the process.

Make sure turn off real time protection, only turn it back on once its finished installing.

This really shows that 343i had all the cards to both honor Halo's legacy AND expand it since Halo 4. There are no excuses. I really hope Microsoft doesn't retaliate again :(

Funny how the only good halo game in 13 years is made by a rts studio who isn’t even fucking in charge of halo🤡🤡🤡. It was their game that introduced an actual interesting faction, and 343 is going to abuse them like the enclave in fallout.

i played eldewrito many many years ago, was fun but i never liked not having things to unlock via gameplay. Such as in mcc aswell where they completely removed the reason to hunt skulls in h2 where you could just activate its effects without having to find it first.

Sadly I think Halo is kind of dead. Sure the community keeps it alive with things like this in a sense but also Halo is a joke now. Nobody except for shills talks about it in any positive light, player counts are abysmal and the company behind it are greedy morons.
I'm not competitive so the multiplayer is not the priority for me but eldewrito Halo does look interesting especially since there are assets not present in other Halo games i.e. the Brute Chopper design. What I enjoy most is simply running or driving around in any Halo game doing whatever I want, piloting whatever vehicle I want, firing whatever weapons I want. Single player or multiplayer, Halo looks its best as an open world sandbox. Not so much as a linear road from start of a story to the end.

This is why I've been saying you can't really enjoy Halo on console anymore. I wish we had an ounce of this same passion and energy that some of these indie Dev teams have in 343 and Microsoft.
Had to pause the video half way through. I 100% agree with the use of mods, and they are ESSENTIAL to any game that wishes to live on for years to come. I stopped playing about 3 years ago but i think im going to be returning now that i am aware of this (Im late) . when you give a community tools, they deliver. absolutely brilliant what these guys have done. This is what i imagined halo being like when i was a kid thinking what halo would be in the future, not some skin buying simulator.
I did like this game but there was something off about how the sniping worked on kbm that was probably never fixed (e.g. like the fov being tied-in with the sensitivity somehow.) I showed evidence and got shrugged off.
also, some server owner banned me because I was running through people in swat and said that I had "typical cheater behavior" by not responding in chat.

The worst part about the Eldewrito 0.7, is the uncertainty it brings.
Not that it is a problem caused by the devs, but the fact that 343 will obviously shut it down eventually, so it is a lose lose situation in the end.
Halo would be better dead and left to the fans by now, and it is so sad that I can say this without a hint of irony.

not sure if it will get shut down, they would have done it a long time ago when 0.6 was released, eldewrito has been around for like10 years now and its still going, and plus i feel like microsoft and 343 dont care about halo like how they used to
@@SherProductions11 They are P2P, so they can't get shut down, but what MS can do, and did on 0.6, is DMCA the team, to stop any future development, shut down the site with any download list, and ban it from appearing in any social media.
If this happens again, 0.7 and any future it can get will die the second it gets, as well as any potential for Halo to ever be good.

If I recall, the real reason it was shutdown was not because of the project itself. Microsoft said that it could continue if they stopped using assets created and owned by Microsoft.
So basically, the team said they were shutting down while they rebuilt most of the assets from scratch, and that, as soon as they finished, they would re-release eldewrito.
So I think this is their re-release! Hopefully no more drama will ensue

343 has hated halo for a long time and it shows. They've just used the IP to push their own mediocre sci-fi universe. Halo infinite started going nowhere but uphill since Bonnie Ross got canned. That's not a coincidence.
Hard disagree on that last part. Really since Bonnie went all we've gotten are bare minimum amounts of content, half assed cross core, half assed not even true firefight, and drastically increased store prices.

I do actually like the halo infinite firefight more than others in a way. It doesn't have the charm that say ODST does ,but I feel it's more replayable just because it has a hill to defend rather than holding out.

Finally someone addresses the main issue with 343, I’m tired of that “competitive” MGL bullsh1t that’s always at the center of the sandbox, Halo began as a Party shooter arena and that was his main attraction. Hope this mod can make them see that Halo it’s a Casual fun game first and a competitive shooter later and not the other way around
Sadly I've noticed a few sweats are starting to make their way onto this game. But yeah adressing alot of the stuff no one else does with Halo is a big part of what we do here.
