    This video (plus the clutch fork removal) just saved us hours of swearing and head scratching! Thank you 😁

      Yup. I came here for the clutch fork removal, too. Great video series.

    Thanks. Introduced it to the hammer & an old flat tip before taking the Map gas torch to the dowel pin area. That did the trick, finally!

    I did an engine swap in a 05 Outback. Much thanks to this video and you channel btw. My engine and tranny were stuck together as well but did exactly what you showed us in the video and it worked! When I put the new motor in I brushed anti-seize compound on the mating surface on the engine so that if I end up taking that one out they hopefully will not be stuck again.

    Thanks very much, I really like your videos. I did have a bit of touble though, concentrating on all the technical info, due to of the volume of the music over your voice. Cheers.

    Hey Luc. You may remove small steel plate between motor and transmission(2 bolts10mm(bottom motor)) and apply pray bar to disconnect motor. Point of connection pray bar: 1. trans. body --> 2.clutch

    Bro, I had to use a small screw driver to get a 1-2MM crack started, then had to use a three second air hammer burst, to get the dowels to even budge.. your video explaining fuel lines helped a ton, thanks!

    Where would you attach the load leveler if you'd removed the intake manifold?

  • @occamsrazor1285

    0:59 From the looks of that hood, that's an RS too. You've just added one to my list of known remaining (5 so far, including mine. Keep in mind I'm only counting the CA vehicles, because as a TLEV, only RSs titled in CA can be registered in CA. No buying one that was titled in New Jersey, for example, and registering it as operable in CA). Funny enough; you and are are from the same city. Did you happen to buy (or was it bought be the original owner) at Diablo Subaru like mine was? And I'm currently building mine into an STI v6. I'd be interested in maybe bringing to you to get some work done. Also, how did you get the 720 1998 coupe 5-speeds number? The resource I have says it was 995. Maybe your source is more accurate than mine and I so I can update it?

    • @SubaruONLY
      @SubaruONLY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is an original RS, nice to find someone else with one. These are super rare, as I suspect you know. Email me directly and maybe we can work something out - cheers!

    Best tool for separating the engine from the transmission is a drywall knife, I'll never pull a Subaru engine without one.
