Definitely front 2. This was so useful to me Jelle as I am just about to tackle a couple of ignored junipers. One of the best videos I have seen on this subject material.
That is a most difficult choice! This was an absolutely great video Jelle! Packed with useful information! I liked the second front with more of the deadwood showing, until you repotted the tree straighter. That changed the whole look of it and then I loved the front you chose. More of the foliage can be seen.
Great vid, and very usefull info about pad pruning, thanks! For me, definitely front no 1. With a more visible live vein, the entire tree is more credible. The other version makes the deadwood too dominant, imho, and the pads look like just an accessory. Thanks again!
Thank you for the video, very useful info. Could you please clarify the name/ maker/ supplier of the high pressure water pistol you used to clean up the wood. Thank you
Great stuff, as always. 👍 For me, I think front no. 1 but rotated round clockwise about another 10 degrees so the deadwood is rotated further to the back, rather than to the side. That way it shows through and contrasts with the foliage without dominating it.
Another Good video. Brief and on point. I vote for front #2. I’m looking for a needle Juniper. I just found a great lava rock to stick it in/on…a combo in rock and over rock look. My sources for stock or suitable Needle Juniper are drying up. May need to travel hours to locate one.
It looks very nice. I'm very new to Bonsai, so I was wondering if your juniper in this video will only have needle foliage or if you can give it scales. Thanks
@Growing Bonsai by Jelle the seller at a bonsai expo in the city. He didn't have a business card or anything, and I can't go back to the expo in time before it closes tomorrow.
Great vid Jelle, but I think you may need other optics for this type of video? Front nr 2 is my prefered. I like the fire works, need to remember that for new year. Cheaper than the bamboo I am using. Would you do this thinning and pruning any time of the year or is spring preferred??🙂👍
@@GrowingBonsai Thanks. I never got to it yet this year. I think I will start now and make little by little during the season. So time consuming on procumbens.🤣😅
Junipers don’t produce flowers. They’re conifers, in the gymnosperms; only flowering plants (angiosperms) flower. What you were picking off were pollen cones
Absolutely technically correct. Flowering bodies would have been the correct reference. But in general, most people would call these flowers, i feel. 🤷

Great to hear!Looking forward to seeing yours!
Minutely and expertly elaborated.................... turning out to be a bonsai with beautifully ramified and well placed pads.
So nice of you Lookng time coming this tree
Always a good day when Jelle posts! great vid!
You're the best! So kind
The best thing about repotting junipers is I get to smell the roots! They always smell so good! Nice video
Super in love with front N°1!!!
Thank you!
Great informative video. I need to work on my needle Juniper and I feel more confident having watched your work. Thanks!
Have fun! But do not do it the day before a hand-modelling appointment, lol!
A spa day for the Juniper!!
😂
Helluva informative video. Thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful! DO have a browse on the channel!
Great demonstration of pad development. I like the front as you had it at the end 16.00.
Thanks
Thank you! 👍

Something to keep in mind: A tree can often be tilted to create a fully different view!
Thank you for this video Jelle! I've had a hard time finding good resources for needle juniper care. And especially how to prune them well.
Ohw, I am sorry to hear. I hope this gives a clear insight in how I do this!
Absolutely fantastic Jelle 😊
Thank you so much!

Great thinking, thank you!

let me try that, thx!
thanks jelle! was waiting for this video. great information and demonstration! i'll try it on my squamata see how it works out. cheers!
:) Hope it works well
Another great video and beautiful tree, would love to buy it if I could
it is not for sale
Great video and information 👍🏻. Could it be a Blue Alps juniper 🤔. Thanks for all your hard work Jelle.
Thank you. I think it is a squamata :)

Off you go. Do not wait and sit around :)
Sir. You May want to try a Rectangle bonsai Pot next Time.
Interesting thought. Why do you feel this would be a better option?
i love this tree
great to hear
Front #2, but with a little bit more live vein showing on the left
ok!
I like front number two best.
thx!
It looks very nice. I'm very new to Bonsai, so I was wondering if your juniper in this video will only have needle foliage or if you can give it scales. Thanks
this specific species has only these needles. Chinese junipers often have needles when young and as they mature they get scales
Thanks, I just got my juniper today, but I don't know how to determine the species. Can you help me out?
@@Fr3ddyFazbear87 ask the seller?

Love you jelle can you do one on how to do pads i cant seem to figure it put
Hm.. interesting. Specifically on needle juniper, or in general?

I prefer spring, or even later winter👍

@@greenmachinesweden yeah, several hours to do well and with concentration!
@@GrowingBonsai That is why I only have two.🙂👍
@@greenmachinesweden good choice. I have only one 😂
So when is the best time to prune junipers?
I like maintenance work over winter. Then let it grow wild over spring, with a cutback once runners have formed to induce backbudding.
Front no1 would be preferred
Ok, guess that confirms it!
Front 1 please
OK, seems to be the general idea
Front number 1
👍
Front no 1
Thx!
No. 1 but more upright.
thx!
I like the number 1 better
Thank you!
What the heck was that sprayer...please post a link I need one in my life asap
Maybe a possibility... front 2 and bend tree to front
Thx!
ga voor 1
Ok!
Nieuwe kant vind ik beter
dank je!
