GMC Jimmy / Chevy Blazer Ignition Switch Assy Replacement and Change 1998 and others similar

Ignition Switch problems ? will need to replace the ignition switch assy which is connected from the actual key lock cylinder and down to a big electrical plug under the dashboard. There are a bunch of hardware to remove and a few panels too. So follow along as I change out this part.

what is the plastic part with the piston in it mine gets really hot

Not sure what part you are talking about, but nothing should be getting hot in temperature
