An excellent and very thorough 'explanation' of the process... concise clear and to the point . You successfully covered all of the answers I was looking for (info only). However I would have used the word 'explanation' instead of 'demonstration'.
it would have been nice to actually SEE you doing it! also, could you explain why we need to remove the old grout? what's wrong with simpply grouting over?
if you have mildew or mold on the tile which shows as discolored, it will infect the new grout & discolor it also.plus it wont lay correctly. it will rise above the tile.
lucky is the homeowner who has the skill to do this right, because i just paid $800. to regrout my grandparents bathroom tile-shower & floor. he was a local handy man, a company i called wanted $1200. he did a great job.
There is a $25 toool called Grouter Outer that removes grout from floor tile much faster than this, and it does not eat up expensive blades every few tiles. And all you need is a drill.
I don't think I fully explained, I have already removed the tiles from the bathroom walls, and now there is 1/8" grout remaining on the edges of the tiles, this is what needs to be removed? I would like to restore and reuse these vintage tiles?
Yes, Dremel bit no. 568, with the guard (sold separately). the bit is about $22 plus free shipping from Dremel on amazon.com and it's $14.?? for the guard (also free shipping) on Dremel @ amazon. Just stay away from the oscillating tool because they are not as surgical as the no. 568 bit and it's way more forgiving in case of any mishaps.
Question: Can I gradually gouge out the grout over a few days and still use the shower every day while I'm working on it? Also, can you use the shower during the 48 hours curing time? Nice clear instructions--thanks!
So many trolls in the comment section, for what it’s worth that was a good demonstration, gives you the standard knowledge, I laugh when people comment what a waste of time, when really they have no videos to help others anyway, bunch of TH-cam trolls I tell ya
first of all you don't need to remove all the old grout you actually just wanna take about an 1/8 inch deep and any loose moldy grout this video and info is practically useless im a tile setter and grout almost daily
Rob Smiley thanks...that's what I have to do, since I don't like the dark color grout used on my white marble floor....:-). Always test your grout color before installing tile...:-)
I thought this was video of how to remove grout. You give two ways to do it, but you don't show the process. This is more like an ad for the grout products you are displaying.
At least be honest in your description or people will feel deceived when you fail to live up to the promise of the video's description. This video only shows the tools/steps necessary. You ought to add a warning to your summary in parentheses for subsequent viewers ...e.g., "WARNING: this is just a basic how-to outline, NOT a hands-on demonstration." This video may actually contribute to a negative public image for your brand, despite being slightly helpful. Accuracy is important if you hold your company up as a source of expert information/advice.
This video should be titled "How to pretend you are going to regrout tile, but not really do it."
This is how I do home repairs. I buy some new tools and then explain to my wife how I will properly fix the issue. Then,
this guy never did any manual labor...lol and I never did this b4....🤣🤣🤣
In my head this is how I would solve the issue I have with my tiles, though slabbering shite like this doesn't fix it
Lol

@IMPAT2 Thanks for the comment! Glad you appreciated the info.
This gave me basic info for getting started. Thanks

thanks good video. you make it sound so simple; i just might try it
just the info that I needed, thanks! just got myself an Ace ready mix and ready to go!
How much time approximately needs to regrout one medium sized bathroom? And if I hire technician how much should I pay him?
Very informative
Very informative just like a book! And know most wish like my self you actually did the job while explaining it.

This is the last guy in the whole world who speaks English and knows how to lay grout.
what was that at the end about a silicon seal? Is there a step that comes after the ones covered in the 'talk'?
LOVE THIS GUY!!!
So after applying the new grout, we have to apply silicone on top of it? If so, how? I am guessing using masking tape?
thank you for the video. i thought it was great info. stuff the bad comments. some ppl are so negitive
Great information! Thanks!

Fail! We could have read all this from a text document! The whole point of a video is to demonstrate to people how things are done!
Waste of time.
I believe they forgot the "demonstrates" part of the description - i agree , this was a waste of time
Great presentation and explanation. Thanks.
It's not simple at all. Removing grout is very laborious.
I have removed my wall tiles, now that I've done that I would like to remove the remaining grout from these vintage tiles, is there a tool for that?
Yes, Dremel bit no. 568, with the guard (sold separately). the bit is about $22 plus free shipping from Dremel on amazon.com and it's $14.?? for the guard (also free shipping) on Dremel @ amazon. Good video really helps
If you bring your finger up into frame one more time sir, I might have to break it.

+Susan Green I haven't seen it in a year and just started cracking up again.
Thanks, you explained it in the simplest terms!!!

There sure are some mean people commenting here...
Why do I feel like this guy is trying to sell me a used car?

i never knew grouting could be so interesting
Yes, but 1) what is a tile? 2) must I use my hands?
first of all you don't need to remove all the old grout you actually just wanna take about an 1/8 inch deep and any loose moldy grout this video and info is practically useless im a tile setter and grout almost daily

You've got to be kidding! This was a demonstration?
Why Don't you just use the Grout Shield color sealer you sell in all your store's Thats so much easier and more cost effective
I used the plug in tool. The problem here is that it is really easy to go into the tile. I did do that. I won't use that tool again.
His explanation is nice, but if you're going to demonstrate, you need to ACTUALLY DO THE WORK. Not as helpful as I would have wanted. Moving on....
I thought this was video of how to remove grout. You give two ways to do it, but you don't show the process. This is more like an ad for the grout products you are displaying.
Done this several times. The saw isn't much cop.Better using a sharp drill bit running it up and down lines by hand
Pretending to show how to re-grout is not the same thing as actually showing how to do it.
see it actually done for narrow grout lines here youtube this " how to re-grout shower " without the quotes
Hi, I’m Troy McClure...
Darth Vader @ 2:40
All talk, no practical display.
Thank you for the sign language for your deaf audience :)
Was I the only one who still saw grout there??
This dude loves to raise his finger
would have been much more helpful if he had actually shown us how it is done rather than just a 'for instance'
Hell maybe even 34
I already read all of that from book I got from Home Depot. I'll avoid any videos from this guy.
Whats up with his chompers???
Talk, talk ,talk, talk. Why didn't you show how it's done. Maybe your not capable! You waisted my time!

Sebastian vettel swapped formula 1 for youtube vids and aged 20 years in the process?
Sorry, but that was almost totally worthless.
Pointless video! Wasted my time.
Maybe even 5
Possibly 5 or 6...maybe even 7.
Maybe even 6
The speaker states that this is just a "talk"...the summary should echo that sentiment or else Ace Hardware in Kansas looks foolish.
Well he does not have to explain you all how to walk you already know....
All mouth n NO actions? Useless video!
Let's play PRETEND kids!!! 🙄
u have to remove it so the NEW grout has some place to go...
lol Sorry bud, really bad video. All you did is talk..no action..
MAYBE EVEN FOUR
show how you do it! talk is cheap...
You need to stop waving your arms around.. Its really annoying!!!!!
U sound like that guy from the TV show dirtiest jobs. It's kind of creepy my dude
Horrible video...
bogus video.. doesn't show anything.. waste of time
I like the video, but honestly, is the dude stoned?
he looks stoned
That's a thick head of hair
Lol
Yeah mate it's not sesame street!!
this guy.....
Why didnt you remove the grout. All you did was pretend.
I bet he didn't even know how to do it. What a waste of time.
Fairly useless since he did not demonstrate anything. Many questions unanswered.
this guy's drunk.
