The reason why makeshift tourniquets are so harmful is because even a slight mistake can cause the person the bleed more.
Well at the same time, college classrooms are larger and classrooms are small and there isn’t many area u can hide, if door is front left, hide in back left because if u hide front or back right , chance of shooter being able to see you if there is no covering to little panel some classroom doors have.
some doors have windows, usually they want you to do hide in the corner of the room parallel to the door so they can't see you/shoot at you through the window. if you can't run and your door is properly secured, it's a good idea. although if you hide in line of the window/there is no window, it's kind of useless.

I am no expert, but I think that the "Fight" option should have included two additional points: "Fight in a group - There is no such thing as a 'fair fight' when dealing with an armed gunman. If you can co-ordinate your actions against the gunman with one or more other people, your chances of winning increase substantially.", and "Keep fighting - Until the Police arrive and take over, do not stop fighting against the gunman. Do not back off, do not stop - your life may depend on it". I think that alot of people have it drilled into them to fight fair, and not to fight viciously. We are prone to pull our punches. When it should be clearly reinforced that, if you have a fire extinguisher and you are against someone with a gun, all the rules need to go out the window. It is quite literally you or him, and you need to be sure that you live.
Agreed, but with this video intending to educate people on how to respond in this event, I am simply pointing out that fighting effectively in this circumstance requires over-riding some basic behaviours which normal people have. Things like trying to make the fight as unfair as possible, ganging up on the shooter, or, as you point out, using lethal force if you think you need to. Normal people don't do this - the military and police spend alot of time training people to bypass these ingrained safeguards which we all develop as being members of a "peaceful society".

My school is pretty secure. When the door closes, it automatically locks, and our hiding position is somewhere where you can’t see us from the doors or windows.

I am a community college student and taking a science class ...... this hit home!! It made me cry for the fallen and praise to the survivors but I am so glad that this video came out in the colleges. I know this may never happen but it is still scary and I would like to know what to do in case of an emergency, so THANK YOU for thinking of our safety!!!

When your running
1. ALWAYS take your bag of it will make you faster.
2. Try to take people with you if you can.
3. Know were the attacker is.
Hiding
1. Find a spot that isn’t obvious (E.X. Don’t hide in a toilet cubicle, try hiding maybe a locker among many.)
2. Lock doors if possible
Defense.
1. Don’t try to be a hero, soon the police will come .
2. Don’t use a stance if you don’t know how to use it.
3. If the attacker is armed do not fight, try to surprise them advisedly use books,desks,chairs.
4 don’t fight alone.

My school’s drill is to grab all desks and chairs and barricade the door, if the active shooter gets in the room, we’re supposed to get our backpack and stuff them with as much stuff as possible. Tip: make sure to lock the doors if you can

Many bigger schools in the United States have on-campus police. My High School had an SRO (School Resource Officer) who is a sworn police officer. Their duties are to protect the school, drug enforcement and handling theft.
Ohio state's campus has over 100,000 people on it at all times. On game day, the population of people on campus makes it the 4th largest city in Ohio. Ohio state is essentially a city. It needs it own police division.

My school is pretty secure. When the door closes, it automatically locks, and our hiding position is somewhere where you can’t see us from the doors or windows.

I think they changed that. If my memory serves, a couple people got murdered whilst phoning 911 and because the operator didn't ask where they were the police didn't get to them in time. I have no way of verifying it but I'm pretty sure it's standard practice to ask for the location first.
I once called 911 because there was someone robbing a coffee shop near me and then like only one cop came and the rest were firefighters, the dispatcher sent the wrong emergency response team.
