The new sites are fairly generous and those cabins are really on the larger size. I've seen much smaller cabins at other parks. I think you're right about the possible grant. There was a distribution from the Land and Conservation Fund (federal) and all 50 states got money to use on public parks and expanding outdoor recreation areas. New Mexico's share was a little over 3 million. That was announced in 2022 so they probably received it in fiscal 2023 and are using it now. A good use of the money.
