I've been watching your videos these past few months-really informative, helped me decide what bike I needed. Just passed my bike test (age 66!) and am picking up my new meteor fireball next week. Thanks, and safe riding.
I really appreciate your content, please keep up the great work. I saw you roll by today at 11:08AM central time here in the great state of Texas. One thing I want to share with you and I believe you’ll agree 100%… I believe American motorcyclists have been duped into the concept of bigger, better & faster motorcycles…. (not to mention insanely expensive). 98% of those ridders can’t even begin to take advantage of all the capabilities of the motorcycles they are riding… I believe this is killing the fun factor, the wonder & the enjoyment of riding a motorcycle. The most fun I ever had on a motorcycle, was on my 1984 Yamaha XT 125 and my (under powered, according to current, at the time, motorcycle magazines) 1990 ninja 600R. Let’s stop being so insecure about having to have the biggest, most powerful & most expensive motorcycle that we can buy…! Let just buy something that we can truly handle…. People will discover that they will be much happier riding a motorcycle.
When you see the Meteor 350 sitting in the driveway you would be hard pressed to tell that bike only has a 350cc motor in it. Like I have said many of time on Ol' Man Ronin's vids that his Meteor 350 with the mods he has done and the choice in saddle bags just makes this bike look so good. I'm not even a brown fan and just really like his overall look and setup of his bike. Like always nicely done. The other thing I notice it seems like you have some great rural areas and roads to ride on in that area that are just a perfect fit for the Meteor 350 and Himilayan.
G'day Ronin from Australia, well done on a year with the Royal Enfield, it's a shame you lost your ride footage that ride would have been interesting to watch, that's Murphy's Law if it can stuff up it will, I'm amazed how similar the types of roads are to here, yes the plants are different but the distance travelled between points are the same wide open ridable space, coming up 1 year for my Interceptor and it's been a blast having that bike, cheers to you and your family, Neil 🤠.
I can't believe it's been a year! It wasn't long after I saw your videos on this bike that I decided to pull the trigger on it myself as my first motorcycle. There couldn't be a more perfect first motorcycle in my opinion, I don't know if I'll ever let this one go, I'll probably keep it forever.
Fantastic bike...two months of ownership fireball Red ...2500 kms, pure pleasure.... smooth, good for the city, fair for Indian highways and can go to ladakh...ticks all the boxes and do appreciate your frank unbiased review
It's amazing to see how a big and seasoned Harley guy enjoying the ride on a small 350 cc bike and declaring... he is having the best time on it. I think these bikes came across at the right time, so that you could revisit the joy of cruising once again...
Once again, you're spot on with this Meteor review. 13 months for me now and although my INT 650 is faster, the Meteor is becoming the go to bike. Why? It's absolutely the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. Another 'thumbs up' also for how clean and spotless your Meteor was at 12:00 minutes. Take care!
I agree with all your reasons for why the bike is sooo good. I bought mine a month ago, here in Italy and love it. It's a plus that it was built for Indian roads because we also have some rough roads here in Italy. Especially the mountain roads.
@@siddharthavicious108 Not good for Italian motorways where the minimum speed seems to be 130kmh!! I don't even like driving my car on Italian motorways.
Hi Jeff. As you know, I have been a subscriber, long before you reached your first 1,000 subscribers and I think I have now watched all of your videos, at least once but this is one of the top 10 for me. Your enthusiasm for this little bike is clear to see and has made me think seriously about changing my Honda CB500X, for one of these. I will certainly be trying one out very soon. Thanks for your great channel and content. Big fan.
A great video in my opinion too. He just mentioned and explained some crucial aspects of the Meteor 350. Enjoyed it. Drop by bro, you may like my content. Cheers.
I really appreciate your enthusiasm with the Meteor 350! I totally agree! I've had my yellow Fireball since January. I live in Houston and it is a perfect city bike! But, it's a blast taking it for a ride out in the county as well!
Once again a very entertaining & informative video. I actually had a 350 Meteor before the Himalaya I replaced it with, everything you said about it is true, but I exchanged it 3 months later simply because it wasn't fast enough. Now don't let me give the wrong impression, I'm 73 years old with years of experience behind me, I started out on little BSA's, 175cc Bantams, & yes - I've had super fast bikes in between, but not now, the need for speed has mainly left me. The Meteor was everything you said it was, comfortable, easy to maintain, (not that I needed to do much of that in 3 months!), the only other thing I couldn't live with was that damn gear change, some people call it Rock'n'Roll, more like Rap to me & I hate rap! Ok, seeing the kinds of roads you ride on, I can understand the laid back approach, in it's element very suitable,& I also 100% agree with you on high tech on bikes - so much to go wrong & so expensive to fix. Keep them coming, Ol' Man, your vids make my day.
You be instrumental in my purchase of Meteor I truly agree living the best life. Most comfortable riding and perfect performance for my needs and wants. Now I will add the long ride bags and the journey begins. Lol
Aw man I luv this video. Your enthusiasm and energy are infectious. For me your Meteor looks absolutely awesome with the luggage on. Thank you Jeff for all the pleasure you give us with your vids, thanx man. Ride safe. Neil
I have had my Meteor 350 for a few months now and I absolutely love her so much. Does everything I need it to. Cruises comfortably on Australian highways (top 110km/ph) and is nimble enough to get through our mountains, and its like riding an arm chair on 2 wheels... I am still learning her capabilities and also my own as I am still a learner, but I am having so much fun doing it... and I have loved watching your vids on this bike... it just makes me love it even more 😃
I have owned my meteor for 9 months and it is my daily ride and I love it for what it is. I have owned other small bikes over the years and this is the first one that I haven’t had an issue with even the tyres I will wear out before I change them. Yes you have to accept the limited top speed but as long as you don’t want to do a lot of motorway miles it is fine. I couldn’t be happier with it a cheap fun to ride bike.
Thanks for the video, your enthusiasm is very infectious and I fully agree that you don’t need a large engine to have fun and cover miles. Cheers from the UK.
I appreciate your videos on this beautiful motorcycle. I definitely look forward to this being my first bike in the near future! Keep rolling, and stay safe! I saw little Ronin cross the road at 4:03!
I am just over a month into owning the Stellar Blue Meteor and I'm loving it. Overall the bike feels like the bike is well engineered and has a quality feel to it, all except the gear lever and linkages, which are just the shonkiest things I've ever seen. They must have given the design of that to the apprentice. When I got the bike they had set the lever too low and I couldn't get my foot under the gear lever to change up. I was forced to use the heel change, which I don't like. When I got home I moved it around two notches on the splined shaft and that resulted in the linkage rod fouling on the foot peg so I couldn't engage second or higher. I backed it off one notch and now it works. So there's only one position where the lever works properly. Fortunately Tec Bike Parts UK (they have a US site too) have done a redesign that has the linkage above the foot peg. I'm waiting for that to arrive. I have also ordered a rev counter and I'm going to junk the tripper. I'm never going to use it. I have an android app that is much better if I need directions. Why they didn't put a rev counter on as standard is a mystery. All my bikes since 1980 have had a rev counter, even the cruisers.
I am waiting for my Classic 350 at the end of the month. Fall in love with the model in the showroom.. I went there to test the Himalayan but this thing is superb in every way.
The nearest dealer to me (that's not a used dealer) actually has two Meteor 350s. One is fireball red and the other is stellar red. I do ever so wish that I could afford one. I have a feeling that I'm going to wind up trading my new (very used) 2014 V Star 250 towards a Meteor once I get it in decent condition.
I 100% agree about too much tech that can break! Motorcycles are simple machines by todays standards and should stay that way. More things on the bike the more things that can break... Keep it simple and easy to maintain..
My Meteor has been great fun too. I had to get it out of the flatlands into Appalachia to appreciate it. I can see that it is a perfect bike for your region. My next mod will be to either find better front springs, or add slugs to get a little more preload, since with my size, (270 pounds) I'm riding "double." 😄 It's been a great bike to downsize to after retirement. Like you, I keep a bigger bike around when I do need to ride with the faster boys.
I took my test last July at 67.. I have one of these in yellow Tinted screen done almost 1000 miles great bike thinking about Getting a Vulcan 650. Not sure at the mo but your correct in all aspects of this bike..you can’t help love this bike without a doubt 😎🥂 Uk 🇬🇧
First video Ive ever watched from this channel and I subbed right away. This is my dream bike and you just convinced me a lot more to ride across my whole country (Philippines)
Another fine video. As you know, I've been waffling, obsessing over, and otherwise scheming to add a Meteor or Classic 350 to my garage as a companion to the Himalayan. I have two Vespa scooters. It only makes sense to have two Royal Enfields right?? And now that I can get Long Ride bags for the Classic 350 the scales are even again!
Hahaha man that's what I'm doing Next year, adding this beauty next to my Himalayan i can't wait to ride it. I fell in love with Royal Enfield and the incredibile joy of riding they give you
I got the universal ones for the Classic 350. They look amazing, but fitting can be a bit tough. If you just use the pannier straps and clip it at the bottom it starts to scootch forward, but not enough for me to care about mounting it more permanently.
This is whats missing for me at the moment .I have a 1200 bandit but I really miss having fun on my bike. The fun with my bandit is all about speed and to be honest im getting fed up with it.
I love my 350. I come from Japanese bikes, which are great, but I love the way the 350 just cruises along without the motor screaming like it's going to fly apart. A great little bike if most of your riding is on backroads and two lanes.
Shared your video with a friend who’s just starting out riding at mid 50s. So many of people I know go from Moped to 1200cc monster. The 350 is a step up from his 250 Honda he has and don’t think he’s enjoying riding because it’s a poor bike for a full grown man. Thanks
If you had to choose for your first bike. Between the Hymalian and Meteor.... what woulfd it be...??? Because you own both. You can give the best advise.
I agree with your comments. I was lucky enough to be able to test this bike at a dealer and then I tried the 650cc... to my surprise I liked the 350 much better than the 650. Very comfortable to ride and super fun.
You mentioned ease of maintenance. Does the Himalayan have screw type valve adjustment like the 350? The Classic, like your Meteor, has 2 valves to adjust. The 650 has eight! Everything about the 350 is easy. From the ride to the maintenance and even modifications! My skid plate just arrived. That will be tonight’s project😁
Almost all the accessories are from India which is great for us in the US market. It's so cheap and the materials are usually old world good. But it's probably bad for those in the Indian Market. Saw a guy on a video asking for Long Ride to sell on Amazon so he can buy $500 saddlebags. That would be very expensive in India.
Hey Ol'Man. I just got back from MT. Vernon, Ohio.(howard ohio) Stopped in to the bike shop had a chat with the young sales guy. They had a bike in there I hadn't seen before. He told me how happy you were with your bikes. I liked the roads you ride. I see why you like the RE bikes. Slow speeds and plenty of of adulation. Free way speeds aren't their forte'. With you the technology. Okay 60-65 speeds two up. I am impressed. Sorry I brought the rain from Australia when I came there. Back in OZ now. I was there Labor Day. stay up wright have fun C-U.
Hi, that luggage looks great an suites the bike very well, as well as being functional. Don’t know if we can get them here in the UK. Keep well Buddy 👍
Have you thought about a RE 650? f you like the 350 so much, but realise its top end limits, then maybe the 650 would be a better fit for you? Thoughts?...
Hey Jeff. Let me ask you. I am 6’5 and weight 210. Which royal enfield do you think is most comfortable to a tall guy? I have never sat on a Meteor before, but I have sat on everything else RE offers here in the US. I think the forward controls on the Meteor are appealing…but I also like the Hima and the Scram and the Int 650. Just unsure if they would be comfy over long ride. Thanks and I hope you are well. Really enjoy your channel. Praying for you. I hope you start feeling better soon. I started watching your channel right when you started. Best to you and Iron Lady.
This bike reminds me a lot of older Harley Davidsons. A relaxed riding bike, low cost, easy maintenance, small cc, low seat height, looks good, great fuel economy and range thanks to it's large fuel tank. Probably my next commuting bike, I only do country roads. I was looking at the Rebel but the gauge cluster isn't the best, the 300 doesn't sound good at all. The Meteor and Hunter sound great, proper thumper 😊 By the way I hit a deer last year in October at 90kmh, killed my Honda CB300R. Had broken ribs and collar bone. Good thing I had all my gear on could have been worst 😂👍
You've got that right you can be miles away from home even if you can't fix it there's bound to be a garage who can. Be riding a bike full of whizz bang technology it may well mean game over🥴
@@walterroussan9827 i'm guessing Shinko down the road? Undecided at this time, but, i'v'e had great luck with them on my other bikes, so unless things change???
This Meteor might be considered a "cruiser" in India, but it's really a standard bike with the pegs moved a little forward. I like the Meteor's neutral riding position, classic looks, its simplicity and sound. I have never really considered buying something as small as a 350cc until now, as a "returning rider."
You have great videos my friend. I just have one question do really think the 350 is enough bike. I'm not a speed demon. Unfortunately I'm being forced to sell my HD for financial reasons 😕 I'm just really worried for when I do have to get on the highway roads for a bit. Thanks
I had to do my driving licence on a yamaha 750 (don't know the model ,don't care it was a naked) i hated it every second i've been on it. And every time i got back on my meteor i could feel how smooth and relaxed the ride is compared to that one.
If bikes are made for Indian roads, those bikes can ride anywhere. Nailed it, the same goes to driving. If you can drive on Indian roads, you can drive on any roads around the world.
The engines should be the most bullet proof engines in motorcycles currently. It's not pushing the engine. From testing, the engines have the least metal particles. It's not complicated. It uses paper filters.
Great Vid, looks very honest, interesting that you do " bike maintenance vids" but, you said on this vid (year old) "I will put out some vids about oil change & chain work?"" unfortunetly cannot find them after this vid, Help!
I could still get the Meteor and then the more powefull Himi next year! Want to do Spain maybe but am still on the fence whether could do Meteor + tent etc..(the other guys could go with are all on 1200cc bikes). P.s Can test ride the Moto Morini x cape which I like..
@@OlManRonin 650 cc 60 bhp. Italian design, Chinese made but engine based off the Kawasaki Versys. Chap I know says the Suzuki DL 650 engine better. P.s It can do light off road but its more of a tourer. 18l tank..(plenty power for me probably).
If you really like the Meteor but want more power, I suggest you wait just a little longer. Royal Enfield should announce the "super meteor" anytime soon. It should be the meteor with the 650 engine from the interceptor. I'm on the fence too. As the super meteor should be heavier, I'm not sure it will feel as "light" as the normal meteor. So I'm still hesitating between the meteor ( & the super) or a Benelli Imperiale 400.
That me chuckle. I've ridden Bilbao to Malaga on a bicycle, l've also done it on a Suzuki 125cc VanVan which was immeasurably easier. A 350cc Meteor would be like a super charged rocket in comparison! It's all relative, what l do know is that the slower you go the more things you see & the more people you meet. I used to tour on a Kawasaki Gtr1000 and now realise what a waste of life that was. Why wait for a bigger Meteor? It's only going to go faster & consume more fuel, is that "better" on a tour?
Sometimes I just can't help wonder what planet Americans think they live on. The greatest use of motorcycles in the world is in Vietnam. 35+ million bikes, 1 bike for every 3 people. 90 percent off-road use. 85% street bikes. We live a spoiled and sheltered existence in this country.

I am waiting for my Classic 350 at the end of the month. Fall in love with the model in the showroom.. I went there to test the Himalayan but this thing is superb in every way.
Congratulations. FYI, Long Ride now has SK bags for Classic 350's
Nice. Happy anniversary
Riding Double lol Im only 10 pounds behind you brother ugh
I took my test last July at 67.. I have one of these in yellow Tinted screen done almost 1000 miles great bike thinking about
Getting a Vulcan 650. Not sure at the mo but your correct in all aspects of this bike..you can’t help love this bike without a doubt 😎🥂 Uk 🇬🇧
We have 30 year old Royal Enfield …. Still it’s works very good ….. love from india ❤🇮🇳
First video Ive ever watched from this channel and I subbed right away. This is my dream bike and you just convinced me a lot more to ride across my whole country (Philippines)
A very detailed review. Enjoyed it. Is there a significant power difference between this and the Himalayan? Thanks a lot bro.
If I could own one of every bike I like this one would be included.
4:02 Thanks for the chance!
Yes, Longride introduced them this week Woohoo
Hahaha man that's what I'm doing Next year, adding this beauty next to my Himalayan i can't wait to ride it. I fell in love with Royal Enfield and the incredibile joy of riding they give you
I got the universal ones for the Classic 350. They look amazing, but fitting can be a bit tough. If you just use the pannier straps and clip it at the bottom it starts to scootch forward, but not enough for me to care about mounting it more permanently.
Hey Robin, thank for All these videos. I am about to go and get one of these meteors and test-drove one just two days ago, I love it !
who's robin?
This is whats missing for me at the moment .I have a 1200 bandit but I really miss having fun on my bike. The fun with my bandit is all about speed and to be honest im getting fed up with it.
I get it completely
How about that! I saw the little ronan go by at 3:15 am! I am very interested in the meteor 350. Thanks for the content!
Thanks
thank you Michael
If you had to choose for your first bike. Between the Hymalian and Meteor.... what woulfd it be...??? Because you own both. You can give the best advise.
I agree with your comments. I was lucky enough to be able to test this bike at a dealer and then I tried the 650cc... to my surprise I liked the 350 much better than the 650. Very comfortable to ride and super fun.
I love my Meteor. Its a riot
The himy has the same valve adjusters and filter as the 350s.
Great review. Thank you
Its fair to say, you seem to like the bike.
thank you Charles cheers
Awesomeness cheers John. Did you tell them I said hey
@@OlManRonin Yep
You can do anything with the included toolkit? I suppose, as long as you aren’t trying to remove the airbox cover. Or check the spark plug.
So ... you seem to like the bike a little?
thx,
S
Nice. I just got one in Brazil, I'm loving it too.
Simply, the great bike, enjoy my friend
New tech would self cancel your indicator... lol. Great bike and review. Thank you!
lol
Hi, that luggage looks great an suites the bike very well, as well as being functional. Don’t know if we can get them here in the UK. Keep well Buddy 👍
How much confidence it gives on turns and cornering….I find it twitchy
3:20 I agree 100%👍
I find the noise on my Meteor 350 engine gets quite loud after it warms up. Anyone else have this?
What brand/model are those saddlebags? Love the look of canvas with leather trim.
Can you share with us the details on what the antenna is on the back of your meteor? Thanks
lol thats a Insta360
This bike reminds me a lot of older Harley Davidsons.
A relaxed riding bike, low cost, easy maintenance, small cc, low seat height, looks good, great fuel economy and range thanks to it's large fuel tank.
Probably my next commuting bike, I only do country roads.
I was looking at the Rebel but the gauge cluster isn't the best, the 300 doesn't sound good at all. The Meteor and Hunter sound great, proper thumper 😊
By the way I hit a deer last year in October at 90kmh, killed my Honda CB300R. Had broken ribs and collar bone. Good thing I had all my gear on could have been worst 😂👍
Where did you get that Back Rack from? Thank you!
That's a very pretty bike/color combo!!!!!
thank you
I want to test drive a Meteor. I imagine that the forward controls are comfortable for long rides.
yes they are, more so than the Classic, but the Classic handles a tad bi better, other than that a draw
You've got that right you can be miles away from home even if you can't fix it there's bound to be a garage who can. Be riding a bike full of whizz bang technology it may well mean game over🥴
GREAT REVIEW OL MAN I'LL BE GETTING ONE SOON WHAT TIRES ON YOUR METEOR ??? LET ME KNOW. THA KS
As of right now. they are the stock Ceat.
@@OlManRonin THANKS FOR REPLY. TIRES MUST BE OK. WHAT BRAND WILL U REPLACE ???
@@walterroussan9827 i'm guessing Shinko down the road? Undecided at this time, but, i'v'e had great luck with them on my other bikes, so unless things change???
This Meteor might be considered a "cruiser" in India, but it's really a standard bike with the pegs moved a little forward. I like the Meteor's neutral riding position, classic looks, its simplicity and sound. I have never really considered buying something as small as a 350cc until now, as a "returning rider."
What’s the weight capacity on this Meteor 350? I’m 5’8 and weigh 200lbs. Also where in the US can I purchase one? I live in FL.
Those saddle and duffle bags, awesome!
yes they are
I believe they are still designed in England?
I really want to have one now soon
Great video as always! I like that Olympia jacket! Which model is that?
Its the Dallas S2 and I love it
You have great videos my friend. I just have one question do really think the 350 is enough bike. I'm not a speed demon. Unfortunately I'm being forced to sell my HD for financial reasons 😕 I'm just really worried for when I do have to get on the highway roads for a bit. Thanks
when you say a bit? How long and at what speeds
@@OlManRonin Probably no more than an hour and about 70. I do mostly back roads most of the time.
I had to do my driving licence on a yamaha 750 (don't know the model ,don't care it was a naked) i hated it every second i've been on it. And every time i got back on my meteor i could feel how smooth and relaxed the ride is compared to that one.
the side bags are cute af
If bikes are made for Indian roads, those bikes can ride anywhere. Nailed it, the same goes to driving. If you can drive on Indian roads, you can drive on any roads around the world.
100% My friend which us why I love RE so much.
U might research counter steering?
I got mine 2 months ago. Did you get any performance difference in one year?
zero it has performed flawlessly
Saw lil ronin at 4:10
Does it suit a 6 feet 95 kgs guy, like does it look gud on big guys?
cool bike could you ride 400 mile days or would your harley be better choice .
Easily, I have NUMEROUS times.
If a bike is designed for Indian road it is designed for everywhere.. true that :D :D
Like they say if u can drive in india 🇮🇳 u can drive any where in the world 🌎 😉 really ❤️ urs video 📹
The engines should be the most bullet proof engines in motorcycles currently. It's not pushing the engine. From testing, the engines have the least metal particles. It's not complicated. It uses paper filters.
what a nice views
Great Vid, looks very honest, interesting that you do " bike maintenance vids" but, you said on this vid (year old) "I will put out some vids about oil change & chain work?"" unfortunetly cannot find them after this vid, Help!
Sadly, Ol Man Ronin passed away in April of '23. RIP Jeff
I could still get the Meteor and then the more powefull Himi next year! Want to do Spain maybe but am still on the fence whether could do Meteor + tent etc..(the other guys could go with are all on 1200cc bikes).
P.s Can test ride the Moto Morini x cape which I like..
Never saw one in the US
@@OlManRonin 650 cc 60 bhp.
@@mcewan7960 The sensible brain in me says wait till next year also but am hopefully gonna get my full lic soon. Well unless I have a bad day etc.
In Switzerland where i live most of the gravel roads are forbidden for moto bikes.
that's weird?????
@@OlManRonin
Environmental protection regulations.
@@cardaveux yet cars and trucks?
@@OlManRonin
Yes mostly only for local farmer tractors and bicycles open.
@@cardaveux well I have no words 😕
Hi sir... i am from india.. .ur rides are so super...one doubt.. From where you get money for filling petrol??
I am a chef for a living. That 8s what the bills ... barely lol
Thanks for ur response sir... Ur country is so nice... Such a beautiful places... One day i wil visit there
How much do you and your wife weigh? I assume you are talking about US gallons? Aside from protecting you phone, did that screen make much difference?
Sometimes I just can't help wonder what planet Americans think they live on. The greatest use of motorcycles in the world is in Vietnam. 35+ million bikes, 1 bike for every 3 people. 90 percent off-road use. 85% street bikes. We live a spoiled and sheltered existence in this country.
Those are awesome 4 the price 😀
