  • Three weeks ago I caught a 16,000 ft long stack train out of Logistics Park Chicago in Ancona a bit further east though that one mainly had single stacks. This one was all double stacks with the same 5+3+2 format. A very long westbound BNSF stack train led by BNSF 4291 (ES44C4 built 2016), 3914 (ET44C4 built 2015), 7955 (ES44C4 built 2015), 7546 (ES44DC built 5/2007), 6857 (ES44C4 built 2012), 4530 (C44-9W built 10/1999 mid-DPU), 5203 (C44-9W built 10/2003 mid-DPU), 7117 (ES44C4 built 2013 mid-DPU), 4531 (C44-9W built 9/1999 rear DPU), and 4708 (fakebonnet C44-9W built 10/1997 rear DPU), passes through Chillicothe, IL. Enjoy and don't forget to comment and subscribe!!!

    This is the only good memories that I have from my time of living in Illinois for 2 years. Wonder what this train would have looked like in the time of steam locomotives? Hmm, how many 2-10-10-2s.

    Great that all these goods are sent by rail, therefore keeping many trucks off the roads.

    Never seen one so long (unfortunately that’s NOT what she said). Anyone know if BNSF or UP still routinely run such long trains? Would imagine they would not fit onto most sidings. Thanks for the video!

    Is this getting to be a more common thing, what rail service needs to do to make money??? At least in rural country...

    • @Cpr1234
      @Cpr1234 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a common sight today. This happens 2 to 3 times a week and it also passes the railcam at La Plata so there's plenty of chances to see it again!

      There is a no horn zone this train travels through to my west. Nicknamed the "Chicago S-Train", this train originates at BNSF's logistics yard at Elwood, IL, he travels south-southwest down to Olathe, Kansas, through the no-horn zone, he continues out to Pier 400, out to a BNSF yard at Long Beach, California, the train is then broken up and put on a container ship to steam west out to the far East.
