It's not a surprise that it has one or two issues but it looks like a very nice car. I have done my xr2 and that looked in great shape before the screwdriver went through the inner wing. Keep up the good work.
I feel your pain, atleast your spring cups look good mine were rotten and the outer skin of the rail was rotten at the cup. Simon Im in the middle of doing mine right now and I'm repairing the outer sections and leaving the originals in. Got a long 4 way spray nozzle and when finished I'm going to spray red oxide paint in from the hole in the back panel to give the rail a good bit of protection
@@Simonstockton82 I've got a replacement rail and going to cut out the bit that I need to replace, if you need rails give me a shout as my mate has a company that deals in panels
You will be lucky to get genuine chassis legs, even in the UK,you could possibly get second hand salvaged items. The replacement copy parts are not as good as genuine ...I would try to repair the originals if possible.
You must remember these cars at one point were worthless. I was welding these cars up when they were 8 years old. Those repairs look well over 20 years old
Yeah man the repair was done some time between 2000 and 2011 Haha bro I remember when they were 1500 and I couldn’t afford one so I bought a fiesta rs turbo for 900 instead.
Mate that car has probably got more that 12 owners. You dont want to be taken the chassis legs off. Try to repair the bad repairs. Ive been a s2 owners since the age of 21....now im 42.
I'm the 4th owner mate I have all the old V5's and V5c's along with original bill of sale and full history. I'm supremely confident it has not had a dozen or so owners

On the spare wheel well where you have big patches of surface rust and pitting, buzz over it all with 80grit disc on a DA and itll be gone!
All done mate and sealed 👌🏼
Sandblast the under side and repair the chassis do not remove them
Would repair in sections. Both rails on my car have gone as well (not a Ford) it’s a nightmare
Yeah that’s fair mate. I think that’s what the welder is planning on doing
