This is an unusual but interesting subject for a model kit. ICM have taken up the challenge to produce different WWI military vehicles, other than the tanks produced by Takom and Meng. I have purchased this model and look forward to building it in the future, especially as it is something that you would not expect to be normally tackled by some mainstream manufacturers. ICM should be commended for filling gaps in the model kit market. Nice review by Peter in his customary enthusiastic and entertaining style.
The fuel tank is mounted above the engine. Gasoline engines were gravity fed at this time. All the model T's were the same. I have the earlier iteration of this kit. Just the standard cargo bed. Quite a nice model. I recommend it Peter. It would be nice to see someone put out some of the steam powered prime movers they were using earlier in the war. The moldings are far superior to the Takom whippet I am working on right now. Oh, and the tires are solid rubber. No innertubes to worry about during artillery barrages ;)
WW1 vehicles are a bit thin on the ground l think so what a great subject makes me think of the Old Bill Omnibus from Airfix really good review Peter, l have to say l am so impressed with ICM so you both get a 10/10 from me 👍
Looks like a nice kit. I would like to see a German & British or French offering to go with it. Ah the optimism of the Americans. Sending a wagon to the Western front without any cover for the driver. The British used them too, and certainly had semi-enclosed cabs on theirs. The Wikipedia page does show American ones with Western covered wagon style covers with the rounded hooped cover pulled over the driving compartment. BTW FWD is the company logo for "The Four Wheel Dive Auto Company". PPS. I see US WWI Drivers in the catalogue...
