I had an early Bagless Twin chamber years ago which was a direct air Elite style version. Nothing would activate my asthma quicker than that machine!
I vaugely remember using one of these years ago: was very noisy, filters were a pain to clean, kinda signaled Hoover's descent to mediocrity. However your mentioned Sebo odor tabs do work nicely in my E3.
That’s better than today’s Hoover bagless vacuums. The motor itself has a longer life, and the components are sturdy on these.

You should have cleaned the filters and unclogged it. It has a safety mechanism.
I have one and I LOVE it! I was surprised to hear him saying it's a crappy vacuum.
They are decent machines, but they definitely made better!

Dwight's vacuum warehouse always has 20+ yr old vacs.
I tested one of these out before never got my people would want them that filter and they're got so dirty so fast and that was just regular vacuuming with areas I vacuumed commonly I cannot imagine weekly vacuuming with this and just how often some people had to change that filter especially with pets
Was not a fan of these. Think I’ve said that before. We had one growing up that replaced our Panasonic mc6255 which was a far superior machine. I HATED dumping the bin and slamming the filter into the side of the trash can outside. Such a garbage design. Would have much preferred the bagged version instead.
I remember my 2nd grade teacher's brother had this same exact Windtunnel Bagless, I love the color of this vacuum (I have learned that this version is actually a Sears exclusive model), and I definitely used it more over her Dyson DC07, and even for a vacuum with an awful bagless system, it still managed to out clean that Dyson. The bagless system was definitely way better in the Windtunnel platform rather than the Elite platform, but the original bagged version of the Windtunnel vacuum was definitely superior.
I used one and yes the filter gets dirty FAST but that aint a problem when you have a leaf blower.
I have one and I just fixed it up. It works so nice. It’s really quiet and vacuums smoothly even though it doesn’t have the best suction it’s still picked up a bit of stuff. The filters get very dirty really fast but it’s easy just to vacuum them out I do think this was a better design than the Eureka whirlwind just because it cleaned better and had more suction, but the dirt devil vision swivel glides we’re a better design and cleaned so much better. I garbage picked one of these at the beginning of the summer and it was destroyed. However I got it looking better I just need to order parts at some point. Also I had to make a hose for it because like you said very few parts are available, so what I did was cut the ends off the old hose and put them on a DC15 hose. It worked great.
We used to have one of these. After two years of getting halfway through a room before the suction clamp effect died and I had to beat the filter out, we gave it to a second hand shop. In retrospect, I should have gotten a WindTunnel Supreme. When it worked, it worked really well though. Better than a smoker's Bissell Powerforce at least.
My brother found a bagged maroon colored Hoover Windtunnel Lite in the trash few days ago. Was missing the attachments but other than that all it needed was a good cleaning, new belt, new filters which I made for it and the correct bag installed as someone that previously owned it stuffed an old Hoover A Style bag in it! It works great and is basically same as my Heavy Duty Commercial version I bought 4 yrs ago and paid $167 for at Home Depot. These are very underrated uprights as they are very powerful 12 amp machines unlike most of what is made now. Only other thing it can eventually use is a new brushroller and of course try to hunt down the correct attachments for it.
We had one back in the day. Cleaning out that filter was a PITA, and had to do it outside in the driveway. Never would get that style vac again.
I definitely agree bagless vacuum cleaners are a hassle.

Oh my goodness a blast from the past for me, my family used to have this same exact model that we got used! It lasted until it died, the twin chamber is horrible to deal with. Otherwise not to bad of a machine.
yup bagged model is the way to go.
@@Dankcatvacs I strongly agree! Bagless certainly has made an impact in the market, yet I will stick with bagged vacuum cleaners.
One of my collector friends has this machine in his collection and he bought it new old stock off eBay! I was going to buy one of these but sadly I didn’t get a chance because I have a turbo power model exactly the same as this one.
Have a similar model, self propelled, recently started to overheat and shut down after a couple minutes.
Are those SEBO scent tablets really worthwhile? I a have never found anything that seemed to make a difference. I'm currently adding Purex Scent Crystals to the bags in my vacuums. It works briefly.

My mom had the self propelled version of that and she hated it. Then my dad bought her one of those because it was on sale she was not happy.

No allergic reactions from the sebo scent tabs? I bought a pack a while back but haven't used them yet because of the warning or disclaimer on the package, mainly concerned for pets.

I have been following your channel from some time as I am looking to buy a vacuum cleaner but unfortunately most of the top brands or good quality ones not available in India. If they are by chance then they are ridiculously priced. Only known available brands are Eureka, Agaro, AmazonBasics, Philips and Panasonic. Which one according to your are better brands?

Huh. Thanks for the review. I just found one on the curb across from where I live. My issue is I installed VERY tall shag carpeting in my apartment and so far my Dyson DC23 canister ain’t cutting the mustard even with the handmade shag rake attachment I fabricated (wish I could share a pic). Any suggestions? Maybe a vintage Kirby? Thanks
Any of the basic Hoover's with the height adjustment will work.
Would be helpful if volume of pickup discussed or frequency to empty holding tank

Perspective is a funny thing. I actually had this model in maybe late 90's? I got it from Sears after my Kenmore knockoff of the Fantom Thunder was stolen. I really loved it at the time! I thought the dual chamber system was powerful and effective. 🤣 Fast forward to today's vacuums, and it's clear that this was definitely not the best. However, I think if you had reviewed this when it first came out....without knowing the future of vacuums' filtering and suction abilities nowadays, you might have liked it more back then. I see its flaws now but in the late 90's, I thought it was the cat's meow 🤣
If I had reviewed it at the time it came out I probably would have given it an even worse review. At the time vacuum cleaners were pretty powerful and cheap. The regular Hoover Tempo at the time out cleaned it easily. That's without bringing up Panasonic, Miele, Sanitaire and the SEBO with Kenmore names on it.

Ha! Bought a 5757-900 21 years ago next month. Still using it weekly (low-mid pile carpeting only). I hate throwing stuff away that works, so I'm waiting for the bloody thing to die.

Ewww I had one of these. I couldn't stand how fast the screen and filter clogged so I sold it. I prefer a dual cyclonic system if I'm using a bagless vacuum.
Suction on the hose wasn't well filtration was horrible

Honestly out of all the bagless machines they had in the early 2000s I would pick the twin chamber, definitely not easy to maintain as a bagged vacuum but it works better then what eureka had the whirlwind. For some reason I find a lot of brand new green twin chambers new in the box on eBay.
They were all pretty bad back then
