- Back with the volca fm. Loved dearly but used sparingly. While pondering what direction I can go in this time, I thought "ambient? yeh why not".
Spent a bit of time watching some youtube videos on the Volca FM while I was watering the garden and then jumped into it.
The preset patches are a mix from all around, not really sure where I got them from now, but the initial longer one is a Jean-Michel Jarre labelled one, which I tried to get some longer drone type sounds into the MOOD pedal with, then I switched to a rhodes piano patch to get some plinky plonky action going. It's a long one I know, I won't mind if you scan around a bit, be my guest!

This reminds me of Flashback on the megadrive. Beautiful work!
Oh thats a blast from the past, thank you so much! 🙏
Absolutely wonderful mate-I certainly wouldn’t mind this one being even longer!
I don't know how you do it with your longer ambient pieces, the longer i'm at it the more i feel like im drifting from the shore and scared I won't be able to find my way back. ♒🌊 But thanks, maybe I will venture out a little further next time!
Absolutely lovely drone ambient! The sense of floatiness is irresistible!
Eyyyy thank you mate, I feel like I want to get different patches to play with on the FM now 🤔
Me encantó tu música. Es muy profunda.
Gracias! Thank you so much for listening 🤙
I missed this video bro! You inspired me to create a new beat with the volca fm! Thanks bro 😊🙏
That's awesome I look forward to checking it out, thank you mate! 🙏
Absolutely beautiful. Love this piece. You really inspired me with you previous Bass track, and yet again in a very different genre! Cheers!
Oh yeh? That really makes me happy to hear. Thanks so much mate!
Man this sounds so beautiful. Especielly the part at 3:40 🤯👍
Haha wooo thanks mate!
I listened all the way through, and it sounds good! I like the choice of tones. I started out with FM as an experiment, and I’ve come to enjoy it a lot. And even after experimenting with different sounds, that electric piano is still a classic.
Peaceful and soothing like your lo-fi sampled stuff, but with a different sound… like a counterpart to that.
Nice work, Ws!
Have you done much programming with FM? I thought I'd really get stuck into it but such is my time nowadays that I'm all about the presets, since there's so many I doubt I'll run out anytime soon! Thanks for having a listen mate!
@@Warmsynths I did some with the volca FM, but it does take a lot of time… at least it did for me. It’s easier with the reface DX, so that everything I record uses my own custom sounds. In fact I sometimes get the sound I want faster with FM than with subtractive synthesis.
@SimpleHold ohhh really? The reface has knob per function? The Volca functionality just seems so hidden away in menus it's daunting
@@Warmsynths not exactly knob-per-function, but it gives you access to more controls at one time. It has a display so you can see a representation of an envelope and four slider panels so you can adjust all the stages at one time, instead of turning a knob to get to each one individually. This way you can see more of the big picture while you edit. It’s been really helpful for me.
@@SimpleHold ohhh kk that makes sense, would be cool to have a display to plug the Volca into to get the same kinda thing haha
Yeah, what Wigges said! The part starting at 3:40 is magical, mate😮 wow!!!
Haha yewww OG mood pedal always brings it! Thanks my alter!
@@Warmsynths 🧙♂️
Nice one
Thanks for watching! 🙌
@@Warmsynths You are welcome 🙂
I'm really enjoying this. The intro leading up to the mid point is giving me Final Fantasy 7 vibes! Did you ever play that by chance?
Oh yeh? Nope I never played any of the final fantasies, although I did spend a bit of time watching my mate play it, I found it soothing haha glad you enjoyed it bud, thank you!
