I don’t know if it’s the most underrated, but it’s definitely most triggering to those with short-man syndrome. I’d take one in a heartbeat. Super practical.

I drove my 2018 RTL-E for 4+ years and sold it for a premium (they hold their value!). Then I test drove ‘everything’ and what’s in my garage now? A 2023 RTL-E. There’s just nothing else out there with all the special features that this truck has. Nothing else drives like it either. Deals are out there also on these, picked up my new one for over $3K off MSRP and no stupid dealer add-ons. So, yes, it is the most underrated TRUCK on the market.

    • @R56Cooper
      @R56Cooper ปีที่แล้ว +1

Wow🎉🎉🎉!! Major congrats on getting 3k below MSRP in this climate! I am considering the Ridgeline. Question: how competant is the lane centering/lane keep assist at keeping the vehicle centered in its lane during freeway driving? Looking at the Ridgeline for roadtrips and freeway driving. Thanks!

I had a 2019 rtl e and sold it to get a camper for almost the same price I paid for it. Missed it and now bought a 23 RTL E! A great gentleman's truck! Not for heavy duty work stuff but for everything a white collar/weekend warrior would need! My favorite all time vehicle

I've got about 700 miles on my new white RTLE 2023 Ridgeline. It is so quiet on the road. Added the OEM hard tonneau cover. It pulls my medium sized bass boat in the Georgia mountains without any stress at all. I've no plans to do any rock crawling, just boat ramps, snow and ice, and it's so nice to have the AWD always on the job. Dealer knocked 3k off the retail, which Tacoma dealer in town was not about to do. For them it's sticker price, take it or leave it. Thought about the Frontier a lot, but the Ridgeline is just a lot roomier, especially in the rear seat compartment with no hump. To get leather seating in the Frontier or Tacoma the pricing was about the same as the Ridgeline. Couldn't be happier. I just retired, and am confident the Ridgeline will outlive me. (I'm 69).

Had an '08, '12 (totaled by a distracted driver) and a '13 had it for 5 years, loved each one of them, had to go with a different vehicle after my '13, but now looking at getting back in a '23. I've driven a lot of different SUVs and trucks over the years, the Ridgeline has been and is still my favorite.

OMG, I thought the same thing, then they push " BLAH BLAH THOUSAND POUNDS TOWING CAPACITY!"I live in the country, I have acreage and some somewhat rough terrain in spots, I have a large tractor and huge commercial typer mower, the tractor doesn't leave the property on a trailer, the mower and trailer can get towed by my Maverick😂 to the My parents if I need to mow their property. I got a 23 Ridgeline Black edition 2 months ago to replace an 18 f150 lariat sport That had only saw off-road/ heavy towing(over 8k lbs every day) for the first time last month when it began being used as a food truck/trailer hauler. I have a fruit tree grove, and chicken farm on my land, and not once, has my F-150 ever really been needed for anything besides hauling heavier tools and ppl back and forth on the property, nothing that the Ridgeline couldn't do. The Ridgeline is underrated, And by far the best truck I've owned so thus far.
On a personal note my 13yo son broke his arm today (First day of summer of course)while skateboarding, I drove him 30 mi to the nearest hospital most of which was driving well over a hundred miles an hour and topping at 115 .although The Ridgeline handles that speed really well,The gas mileage definitely suffers, But the stability was amazing and impressive. Don't get me wrong I'd like to have more power, But that would be just for the fun of it. I mean let's be serious, This midsize with 400 horsepower, would be fun hauling @ss across some grassy, muddy fields sideways Tearing it up😂. But believe me the 280 does just enough to still give you plenty of laughs. And it will get you wherever you need to go safely.
Plus, for a factory sound system, she bangs.the in bed audio is surprisingly good too.

I tow a +/- 3500lb boat(Lund Tyee)/single axle trailer with my 2023 RTL and it does very well. I've owned and towed with many half ton trucks and full size SUVs over the years, and the RL surprised me by how stable it is and how confident it feels at interstate speeds with a trailer behind it. The major surprise that I absolutely love is that the 9spd will stay in whatever gear I leave it in with the paddle shifters (in S mode) no matter how far into the throttle I get. Every single automatic truck I've towed with in my life would decide if and when it wanted to downshift even when it wasn't necessary. If you've ever towed in hilly areas you know what that's like. The key to transmission longevity is keeping it cool, and constant, unnecessary shifting generates heat.
Keep the RL in it's powerband and it'll pull right up hills at 70mph with a load behind it without breaking a sweat.

2 things I like: 6 cylinder engine that could last >250,000 miles. The 4-cylinders that are now the only choice in Chevy Colorado is less likely to last >250,000 miles. 50 inches between the wheel wells so can fit two extra large dog boxes, a sheet of plywood, etc. Compare that to 41.5 inches in the Tacoma.

I'm ready for a more practical comfortable ride. I really like the AWD in my wifes Jeep GC and that's what this has. That storage in the back is awesome, plus the way the tailgate opens looks really nice. Thanks for the review!

I have an ‘04 Ram 1500 with only 93K miles that I’ll be selling soon and while I would like another full size truck, I can’t see spending $20K more for something similarly equipped (dual zone climate, tech, Nav, etc.) The Ridgeline will do 90% of what 90% of truck owners need to do and I am in that category.
I love my Honda cars, so this is at the top of the list for a purchase later this summer. Just wondering if I should hold out to see what they’re doing for the 2024 model.

The hidden trunk and the magic rear seat are the two 'aces in the pack' for the current Ridgeline. Love these features! I hope Honda will fix that crappy digital speedometer, the silly push-button gear selector, and the absurdly fiddly heating and ventilation controls for the '24 model. These things don't belong in a truck, and the mark one Ridgeline had much better controls and instruments.

I had an AW drive Sport model and overall the truck is of great value and quality. Driving around the city and even in the highway is comfortable. However, I have towed a 4300 pound travel trailer and I was not impressed. While towing, I only achieved 146 mile range from a full tank of gas. Drove the speed limit, flat terrain, no rain, and no wind, almost ideal. Honda does not listen to their customers, redesign, redesign and consider the capabilities of the competition when it comes to hauling a trailer under 5,000 pound weight. I traded it to a full size truck and oh my God, I was able to have double the range and some more to spare..

Until Honda can couple a good automatic transmission to a V6, the Ridgeline will remain underrated; few people will trust this to tow/haul anything.
    I see that the power-outlet is still a TWO-PRONG, just like my '19 Ridgeline, and I bet it's still a 115 V, instead of the standard 120 V.
Did they update anything in this in the last 4 years... other than the volume knob... like that underpowered, nanny-driven infotainment? For long trips, we have to use Apple Carplay so that my husband can map routes as we drive... otherwise you have to put the truck in park. Dumb.
It is incredibly comfortable, and drives like a dream... except the 'shuddering' transmission. It has excellent sound.
The tailgate has been a constant hassle; I've had to replace both the swing-out and top-down actuators, they wear out/break/slip easily... flimsy plastic.
