These are usually called bed mills rather than turret mills. The difference being that with a bed mill, the entire head can move in Z, rather than the knee as in a traditional Bridgeport. Of course, they both have a quill with limited travel. Presumably you would say that knee mills and bed mills are both types of turret mills? Knee, turret or bed, what's in a name?
