    When i was at school my mates dad ran 2 750s they had a spare header the same as the one on this 760. It looks the part. Must have been a massive combine in the early 70s.

    The 760 was introduced to the market in 1971, amazing bit of history!

    What year is this particular combine? Styling looks early to mid 1970s.

    Mooie video. Apart maar mooi model combine, nog niet eerder gezien zo'n model.

      +nagd2010 Dankje! In Nederland zie je dit model inderdaad maar heel weinig, ze zijn geloof ik ook nooit nieuw verkocht hier. Je kan ze een beetje vergelijken met de Lexion 780 van vroeger. In Zeeuws Vlaanderen lopen er nog een stuk of 6 tot 7. De meest zijn uit Engeland geïmporteerd.

    To see an old machine like this on Tractorspotter is a treat. Usually all of the equipment we see on here is new and up to date. It does appear to be working well. Since the fact that it has a V8 engine is mentioned that must be significant since most standard equipment comes with an in line 6. Someone explain if you will. Thanks.

    • @danielerigon1846
      @danielerigon1846 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +jbmbanter it has a v8 pekins because it was the biggest model produced by MF at those years.. the 750 has the 6 in line engine

    • @jbmbanter
      @jbmbanter 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Daniele, I was always impressed when I worked at a JD dealer that Deere could get so much horsepower out of the in line 6 and they are still doing it. :)

    • @danielerigon1846
      @danielerigon1846 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you are right, but the perkins 540 v8 is used in the 1155 tractor, so i think that mf used the biggest motor that they produced into the biggest combine :-) i dont know that they used v8s.. maybe for the big displacement that produced big torque values! International harvester and white used v8 in tractors, too!

    • @jbmbanter
      @jbmbanter 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks again. I'll have to Google the 1155 specs and see what Tractordata.com says about it. I've found that that site has a wealth of information about all farm equipment.

  • @xray606
    @xray606 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, that's an oldie. Think my relatives had one like that. It was constantly throwing belts. Which is usually the reason people get rid of a harvester.

    • @Mackeson3
      @Mackeson3 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +xray606 Let's not kid ourselves, those old Massey combines were utter rubbish! My neighbour had 3 and they broke down so often he himself almost had a nervous breakdown!

    • @darrenmisick3493
      @darrenmisick3493 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mackeson what do you mean the "old massey combines" were rubbish. What do you know about them, did you ever own one or operate them long enough to form an educated opinion.Massey only pioneered the self propelled combine which everyone else copied. They held 60 % of north american combine sales in 70's and early eighties not to mention record setting world sales. Check it out for your self. The Perkins diesel is one of the most fuel efficient engines ever made and bullet proof. Really if you use your brain and think for a minute ....what really is there to a combine. chances are your neighbor is no smarter then you around combines....3 lemons come on now !!!! We still have our original "410 and & 760" and I know of a lot more still going strong.You must be some hillbilly yankee that was using a team of mules and scythe up until a few years ago if you talk about the Massey combines like that. Don't ever forget that the Massey Harris 21's saved the American harvest nearing the end of WW.2 when Massey Harris sent out "500" combines to save your asses . That's Canadian pride and joy and design "Massey Harris" which went on to become "Massey Ferguson". Do your homework "boy"!!!!!

    • @Mackeson3
      @Mackeson3 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am English. Here in The UK the reliability of Massey combines over the years have been shall we say 'mixed' to say the least . Some dealers won't even take them in part exchange because they are difficult to sell again. I know farmers who have bought some of the latest models (Deltas) and now bitterly regret it. thefarmingforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/let-down-by-agco.117148/
      I even know farmers who run a fleet of MF tractors (Because they love them) that won't entertain an MF combine. The New Holland, Claas and Deere combines have a much better reputation here.

    • @darrenmisick3493
      @darrenmisick3493 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it keeps throwing belts there is a problem that needs attention. Can you be specific to which belts.

    • @darrenmisick3493
      @darrenmisick3493 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry about the calling you an American. I will agree with you on M.F's combine reputation after the last 865, 860 and 850's were built. I myself own Massey tractors and would not buy a new Massey combine but the older ones were the very best. Massey went broke and that's when all the trouble started and Agco bought them and things have never been the same for the combines. I just don't agree with saying they were poor combines when it was only the new ones that really were full of issues. No dealers here in Alberta will take any old combines of any make on trade anymore, the salvage yards don't even want any old combines anymore. The times have changed and everyone is farming larger acres and want only new equipment.

    Notice the easily accessible fire extinguisher and clearly experienced operator who knows that closing the cabin door on these tinder boxes is a recipe for disaster.
