Always feel that " Clash of the Titans " never gets enough love. But it's beautifully done and has tons of atmosphere. So it's my favourite even though I recognise that " Jason " is the masterpiece amongst Harryhausens filmography.

That’s a great figure. I’m glad to see Harryhausen getting some “love” from the collectibles makers. Favorite movie by Harryhausen is Clash of the Titans 1981.
@@LauraLegends These types of figures sorta does exist, but they're masterpiece scale Transformers. The well made one have crazy levels of articulation, and there are a ton of stop motion Transformer channels on TH-cam due to those figures being so good for stop motion.

I watched a documentary on Ray Harryhausen and the interesting part was how he went about doing the chorography of the figures. First off he never let anyone disturb him while filming, simply for the fact as to not lose his place. Back in those days there was no way to reference the movement so all was done by memory. First thing dad said was "Totally Freaking Awesome!" then remarked it is out of our price range. Cool review, definitely love the display and Jason and the Argonauts is my favorite movie but can enjoy any of them. Thanks for being Legendary.
Great review of Talos! I died laughing in the beginning at the 0:49 mark when you were saying you were sneaking in your toy room to do the review. I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. Sqirrel Goblins rule!
Brilliant! I saw Jason And The Argonauts at the cinema when I was seven, waaay back in 1971. Talos scared the bejeezus out of me. He invaded my dreams for many months. The part where Hercules and Hylas come out of Talos' plinth, and despite warnings, Hercules has removed a giant, spear sized needle, and, with an horrific metallic screech, Talos turns his head to look at the two microscopic men, still brings me out in goosebumps. That was how good Ray Harryhausen was. He made you believe utter impossibilities, without using CGI (as it did not exist), but skill, craftsmanship, and extreme patience. He was a true genius. The giant crab from 'The Mysterious Island' was a real crab, that Ray bought when it was alive, and had it humanely dispatched, and then he and his wife got rid of the shell's contents in the best way, ie. lunch, and then Ray made an armature for the legs and claws, and made new latex parts to bring the decapod back to 'life'.
Wow that must have been AMAZING to see this film I’m theatres as a young’n! Such a scary scene for sure! Especially for a 7 year old! - I really like the depiction of Hercules in this film, he seemed like a REAL man’s man… an ordinary man but strong enough that people would regard him as a hero/‘god among men’. Hahaha thank you for the crab fact 😂 I didn’t know it was lunch
@@LauraLegends - It's funny, but that's how I've always pictured Hercules/Heracles - not as someone with the physique of 1980's Arnie, but as a normal sized bloke, who just happened to be superhumanly strong, and super intelligent (who else would think of diverting a river through horrendously dung filled stables to clean them out?). Nigel Green's portrayal of him in this movie is top notch. Nigel Green was a great character actor on TV and Film in the 1960's. He's superb as Major Dalby, the boss of Michael Caine's Harry Palmer in 'The Ipcress File' (1965).
First Laura Legends upload of 2022 is a good one! My favorite Harryhausen work is the Kraken but also Medusa, she scared the crap out of me when I was little. My condolences to Odie no balls, give him extra pats and cheese.
As a lifelong Ray Harryhausen fan, I made some stop motion films. They are extremely time consuming and tedious to make for just a few seconds of film. When I filmed outside, you can see the sun's shadow lengthening. So much respect for Mr. Harryhausen after doing that. I've probably seen just about all his movies from Mighty Joe Young and 20 Million Miles to Earth to the more recent Jason & the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans. My favorites would probably be Jason and Clash.
@@LauraLegends - 😂 I think I know what you mean. There was something about him & the way he was animated which made you believe he was a living, thinking, creature & not just a latex puppet. To me, it was probably his eyes.
