any other package generates "add operation failed. unable to extract deployment info from the package. run validation...". any idea what the problem is? im on server 2019 evaluation installing the 64 bit vers of notepad ++ as exe not msi other msi programs generate the same error
I did everything from this video, but policy didn't apply to remotely computer and msi package didn't install on it after rebooting(remote PC was the part of my domain and joined successfully on it, version of domain controller operating system is windows server 2019 datacenter, remote pc has windows 10 home edition)

what if i want to install .exe file?
You can package the exe as an msi. Or run startup/logon/logoff scripts
Great 👍

I know your comment is a bit dated, but home edition cant be joined to a domain and managed. Need Pro or Enterprise I believe to do this.
home edition cannot be part of domain, thats way not installing
Very helpful thanks!
Great video - one question though. Who has access to the network share \\xx\Distribution$? Admins only or all users?
It's up to the admin to decide who has effective access. You set the network share permissions normally.
Will computer policy work if the application requires admin privileges for install?
In my experience, it has.
How can i get msi files ?
thank you to teach this tip of ADDC
Useful
Glad to hear that
