Discription : In this video tutorial of Deploy Software Using GPO by kaptechpro, You will learn how to deploy software using Group Policy in Windows Server 2016-2019.
Software Deploy through group policy is a feature to install software using .msi extension on Clients Computer.
However, It is not easy task to deploy software through group policy on each computer.
So, Its feasible for administrator to install software through active directory group policy in Windows Server.
In windows Server 2019 group policy is used to deploy application on production environment.
By watching this video i can assure you that you will be able to deploy software and install application on windows Server 2019.
Brief Steps:-
1-Download any software with the extension of .msi and save it inside folder.
2-Share the folder path by clicking on properties and give permissions to users and computers in which you want to install software using gpo.
3-Create a Group Policy and link it with the OU.
4-Login with the credentials of user who has permission to Deploy software.
5-Update the GPO on Client Computer.
6-Check the result.

Error while adding "add operation failed. unable to extract deployment info from the package. run validation...".

.... why you need the package to be installed in msi format? most of the programs are in exe file container. You can rename it in cmd in msi dont know if that is going to make the trick though
I think, usually the .exe file is in installer and requires manual setup choosing what parts to install, but an msi can be mass-installed as there is no human choices/interactions required
may i ask?
