Thanks for the great review. The gen 3 is slightly heavier than previous versions because the rear body had to be longer for the adaptation for rear tension and abloy classic options. I tried aluminum but feedback was duller and I didnt think it would last as long as stainless steel expecially the threads. Hopefully you get plenty of use out of it and would love to see you make the classic and sentry tips and pick the locks on camera😍🙏
I love mine and have been using it a lot. I have noticed that the newer abus granite stainless I bought has a different profile and won't take your current picks. Any chance you will make and sell updated picks to fit the new abus plus profile?
It’s a genuinely great tool. I just used it on the recent Anchor Las video, and it worked a real treat! I might have a go at a classic tip… I just need the time!
303 Stainless steel is free machining stainless steel. It has additional sulphur added to help it become easier to form and to shape, (we're talking miniscule, almost invisible amounts here, like fractions of a percent) This additional sulphur makes 303 *slightly* less corrosion resistant than 304, (its 304+sulphur) which is markedly less corrosion resistant than 316. The reason to use 303 is because its free machining, it dramatically reduces power consumption of the machining equipment, it reduces time required to manufacture, and it increases surface finish quality. So its easier, faster, better, and cheaper, all at the same time.
i got this pick a couple months ago(not sure of version # but looks identical) and i couldnt be happier with the pick, super high quality at a ridiculously good price. i dont know how he only charges so little frankly... i got the full kit so to speak for like $220us. i believe... sooo much more control and feedback compared to something like the sparrows dd pick(which for the price is ok imo). RWB also sells awesome cutaway Abloy dd locks thar are done beautifully. overall i couldnt be happier w the purchase.. anyone thinking about buying one should just pull the trigger and buy it.
Nice review and good picking👍 I'm really glad I got my order in with RWB a couple days ago because I'm sure after your video he's going to be busy shipping out a lot more picks.
I have one of these. They are really really nice, and rwb is great to do business with! Edit: I have found that you can adjust the ring to also serve as a sort of "spacer" that sits flush with the lock instead of trying to keep the whole setup lined up. It is especially useful if you are not using a vice.
Great review Ash. I have all 3 versions and they are all good but this one is the dogs B****S 😁 RWBYAN and Chrispix really added some great features to the tool like the stepped hole for various diameter tension tips and the dual spacing marks on the main body. I think the larger tension wheel was meant to provide very fine control when picking DD locks. It was worth making people aware you run the risk of over tensioning if your less experienced picking DD locks. This feature was added after some great feedback from Martin Newton. I think the weight is a non issue and its probably because your not used to such well made tools. They feel more like a government tool the quality is that good. Almost all similar DD picks on the mass market are made from Aluminium and unless its anodised and lubricated its not really the best material for this application. Aluminium on aluminium tends to have a lot more friction when in close contact. As for the price they are a bloody bargain in my opinion and I know RWBYAN well and know what goes into making these. He has done a fantastic job making these at that price point.
Really looking to find more euro pin tumbler locks. All uk ebay sellers I've asked don't ship to US. If you have any advice it would be helpful. I don't mind paying shipping when the price of locks in UK is less than half of US locks. I have been a long time viewer of your channel.
Really cool tool and great review. The Gerda was stiff because you were picking in the same direction you were tensioning. If you would have turned all of the disks clockwise before picking, you would not have been fighting yourself while picking.

Beautiful tool, great work. I wish I could afford this 😢 but such is life.

@@JSTKSK what sort of keyway does this lock have?? Would love to see it

@@LockNoob saw that. Great video 👌🏻 just sent you the dimensions for the classic tip on Instagram. Good luck 🤞

But not as corrosion resistant. Not an issue unless you're picking open the hatch on a submerged submarine or other salt water environment 😁
Iam glad you said gen 3 is top heavy. I have 2 &3 and gen 2 is well balanced. But I love both and definitely a game changer in dd world.
It’s not massively heavy in a way that affects it’s functionality. More notably heavy? If that makes sense? It’s a great tool for sure regardless
Thank you for review Ash. It's great 🙂 finally have got mine.

RWB always makes quality stuff imo

Good tip!
I definitely like the futuristic look of this pick not to mention it seems like quite the ingenintive design.
It’s a lovely looking and very functional tool for sure
It's a very well designed and presented tool, it just looks so nice. I think £10 for the blanks is a bargain.
As always very nicely done review.
Thank you very much!

Very lovely workmanship on that pick. As always, a great review.
Thanks and yes, super nice to use AND look at!
Thanks for the review and it is going on my wish list for sure!
Cool!
It looks very good and it is significantly cheaper than the Silver Bullet.
It’s very nice!
Very thorough & helpful review

I don’t blame you for liking it, it’s great!
Great review and this is such a nice tool 👌👌👌

I’m always fighting myself lol
Nothing to do with me, Squire! 😉
