ABs looking good with some great new players coming into the game, George Bell and Billy Proctor both scoring tries on debut. Gives Razor a lot of depth to work with. My money is on them this year!
As a Bok fan for me in the forwards Ben Jason Dixon will be the next forward to come through. Think also Cameron Hanekom will be in with a shout. I'm more certain about the backs. Ireland will have given the ABs confidence of getting an away win in SA and NZs games were a good challenge to get the new team and coaches bedded in, but not too much, so its debatable really.
@@chrislenferna4384And how would a 'dry ball' in Capetown be a disadvantage to the All blacks? We've played 10 matches at Capetown and won 7..As far as your 'hallowed' Ellis park is concerned,we've won 6 of the 15 games played there..
As far as the All Blacks go I"d like to see them sort out the receiving of the kick off, better positional kicking, more challenging box kicks when they do them. All easy fixes and I would expect to see much improvement in their next outing in these areas. But overall happy enough with the first 3 games of the year, I'd say by the end of the championship this team may just be a force to be reckoned with and more of the new coaches influence will be shinning through. Just have to give them a little time to fully click with the new game plan Razor and co are tying to implement.
Before we talk about new Boks taking over from the incumbents, I'd like to see this young team against Argentina or the Wallabies away. Keep in mind that Sacha was playing behind a pack that dominated. How will he in a test against a more formidable pack and better organised defence?
SA has a radically new attack pattern. The big question is can they move to this faster ball in hand rugby without compromising their defence. They are also struggling to find a new 8
The debth of the Springboks is unparalleled. Players injured or on suspension is Damien Willemse, Canan Moody, Edwil van Der Merwe, Andre Esterhuizen, Henco van Wyk, Faf de Klerk, Jaden Hendricks, Hershel Jantjies, Cameron Hanekom, Jasper Wiese, Franco Mosterd, Lood de Jager, Jean Kleyn, Steven Kitshoff and Malcolm Marx (still 4 weeks) ..... Despite these injuries etc they will be more than competative and bringing in new pictures to the opposition on attack via TB. Going to be a great RC.
Why is Arentina not mentioned here? I feel that they can beat any of these 3 teams if they click. they also have a new coach and some good young players. they played a young French team and lost the first test, but it is what they did after that, that was impressive. I would take anything for granted against them. the Aussies still has to be tested, so the verdict on them is still open, and do not know if Joe Smidth got all his answers from the games they have played. The AB's will be happy, but again do they have more questions than answers. Some of their positions they are stacked, but they might have some issues in the locking department. They also need to find the right loosy combination, as some of the new faces were underwhelming. At least they have Ardie there. Same with the Springboks. They need to pick the best combinations for the right game plan. There are some tough selection decisions to be made, but what we do know is that the depth of SA rugby is good. And they need to improve their discipline and staying patient on the 25 entries, to get points when they are on attack.
ABs are looking good I think. Long term battle at halfback will be Roigaard v Ratima, similar players, both v good. With Jordan back the backline selections will be more obvious (once they’re willing to move past Ioane, reliable as he is.) Big question is whether DMac can continue to improve as an international 10. Lock is the only spot where there’s an actual shortage of talent as opposed to selection uncertainty- hopefully Darry can step up.
Roigaard and Ratima are not similar players. Roigaard is a much more robust player and runner. Ratima has better pass and is quicker, but whilst he has good power to weight, he is not nearly as strong as Roigaard.
South Africa have got to make some tough decisions. Are they happy with the blunt attack of their main, aging, Team? Or do they make changes? Pollard is played with a playmaker at 15, Why not play Manie with a Kicker at 15?
I am sure, SA springbok management and coaching has proven themselves. Handing over the baton is a process. You need more than youth and talent to go the long haul. This is something corporates and governments can learn from the Springboks. Sometimes you concede a battle to win a war.
springboks have a lot of depth in all players but some selections is costing game play, attack, defense, and some do not gel.they keep on with same players who does not perform nor the best at that position but are in because of they were WC players but performance wise have taken a slump/dip. AUS is building on a new squad and is exciting to watch, love their way of play. AB is still better at breakdown and defense but attack is not 100 percent. AB are scary when they find their mojo. ARG is 50/50 and can upset all 3 opponents. All in all this championship is going to show each team biggest flaw as well as produce some awesome rugby.
