A couple years ago, you compared the KLX300 dual sport with the KLX300R, per my request. My KLX dual sport had some sort of electrical issue and I was tired of that. I wanted to trade it in on a KLX300R, and according to the website, the dealership had one. Got to the dealership to do the swap and the KLX300R had been sold like the day before. The website said they also had a CRF250F, but it sold earlier that morning. The website said they had a WR250F, and they did, but it was in the crate. But they also had a CRF250RX with 6 hours and it was ready to go. I got the CRF250RX. I wasn't quite ready for a cross country race bike. The power delivery was frightening until I got used to it. Still, I did get used to it and was happy. And then I tried a friend's Beta XTrainer. That's what I'm on now, the XTrainer and a CRF450L. Best of both worlds. But I can't lie; I'm still super curious about the KLX300R. Looking forward to whatever you do with yours.
Imagine your xtrainer +65 pounds, the power is soft like that the heft is...hefty. I had my CRF450RL and I loved that bike and would likely still have it except I needed to use the $$ to get the misses a 4 wheeler. It's a ton like the DS version with less emissions crap (just a pair valve) and better brakes. I will be hot rodding it and stacking it up against the KDX as much as I can.
