I sincerely hope people give this movie a chance. It was phenomenal. An all-time classic in the making. It is visually stunning with one of the best original characters I have ever seen in a movie. Alita is a total winner. Go see it at least once. I am going back!
I am someone who did not read the manga or watched the original animated movie. My quick review of this movie is from a perspective of a casual movie goer. The movie isvery good. I haven't seen such a action packed movie in a long time. The pacing between story and action is just so good. It's rated PG-13, but it feels like it should be rated-R. If you're going into this movie blind like I did without any knowledge of the lore of Alita Battle Angel, don't worry. It will entertain you for sure. I saw it in iMax 3-D, if you have the money, go for it. If not, it's worth watching it in standard. Just be ready to be entertained because Alita is the Battle Angel we deserve and I can't wait for the next one!!! GO WATCH IT! It's money well spent.
I, too, was only vaguely aware of the anime/manga which was called "Battle Angel Alita". One does not need to see, or even be aware of those things to fully enjoy this film. I think this is the best movie James Cameron has made since Terminator 2. (Don't get me wrong, I loved Avatar, but Alita Battle Angel is the pinnacle.) I saw this in IMAX 3D as well, and was blown away. The cool thing is, I have PlayStation VR which allows one to watch 3D Blu-Rays, even if one does not have a 3D HDTV. It almost perfectly replicates the IMAX 3D experience. With a pair of Dolby Surround headphones, or even a full Dolby home rig, the experience comes that much closer.

That sequence at 2:51 when she wakes up for the first time and look at herself in the mirror is the best scene in the movie. She looks real and cute by making candid expressions everyone would do in her shoes even though she's a cyborg/CG creature. She's really the heart of the movie and I dare you not to find her endearing even if you dislike the movie, you can't help but like her.
A girl with alita personality is absolutely my type even before the movie coming on air. Cute and adorable when she with her loved one but brave and fearless when she face an enemy. Absolutely gorgeous.
The incredible CGI and amazing action scenes were great, but Alita was what really sold the film. Rosa's emotional performance and the careful work from the camera crew and the special effects team put her character together so well that many audience members were very attached to her, even if the movie as a whole wasn't their cup of tea. Alita's personality and character development might be the main reason I see it a second time.
You definitely fall in love with this character when she wakes up. From her perspective, it's as if she's simply been asleep, although aware that her body was destroyed and discarded. She scratches her nose, eyes still closed...then they flutter open for a moment, close again, a brief moment of being awake....ok, let's go back to sleep.....wait, WHAT?! Then she sits up and takes everything in in a child-like wonder that just makes her so damned cute. Your heart melts as she is taking it all in. The journey throughout the movie in which she rediscovers herself.....it grabs you and it does not let go.

I saw it on a date for Valentine's Day, and it delivered EVERYTHING. My date and I were both pleased with the movie, and it got the "happy ending" we deserved later. Take your lady to see Battle Angel, and reap the rewards of Girl Power!

Without diving into the many reasons why this is my favorite movie, I have to mention that the choreography is generally the most impactful I have ever seen. No other film, TV show, or even anime gets close to the presence each character has on screen during a combat scene. Though the choreography dives into sci-fi fantasy, it is rooted in realism in a way that feels like it scratches an itch in my brain. I will legitimately have anxious tears and laughter during many of the scenes where Alita is using Panzer Kunst (cyborg kinesthetic fighting style) because the gravity, weight of each character's body, and general sense of power is indescribably beautiful and fulfilling. Simply put, imagine a Ninja, a superhuman, and cyborg mixed into a single entity that has no shyness in constantly showing you how powerful, elegant, and human they are. Don't listen to the haters or critics. This movie can easily be considered a cult classic and a top of class movie experience. It should go down on record for being the first to achieve many technical feats never before seen on screen. Let alone, doing them in a cohesive way to create memorable characters, atmospheres, and storytelling.
Rosa Salazar is wayyy more talented than I expected, I'm very proud of how far she has become! And I just watched Avatar again yesterday, and now this movie, pretty much I'm very very happy with everything! I'd give 10/10, it's SO GOOD

I've remember feeling so excited while watching a movie in a while. This was a breath of fresh air, and being an live action adaptation of a Manga/OVA done right for a change. I hope more people go see this movie so James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez can continue this awesome story. ALITA is the best I've seen in science fiction, ALITA is an extraordinary character, the story is fabulous, the cast is magnificent and the soundtrack is excellent. It is for me the best movie in the world.

I happened to see this stunning techno-movie in 3-D...in one of the superior theatres(ESCAPE).....Even though I have been seeing more than 50 films , from AVATAR ," JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE .....EARTH", I was a little bit tilted ...shaken and attacked by the ATMOS effects thanks to the Visual Effects Supervisors: JOE LETTERI, ERIC SAINDON, RICHARD HOLLANDER......and the Sound deparment handled by Stalwarts like ETHAN ANDRUS, CRAIG HENIGHAN, BRAD ENGLEKING, ANDY NELSON........After spending Rs.199, I had fever for three days! Those child like eyes of Rosa Salazar still haunts me.....behind my closed eyes! Well done. Mr. Rodriguez....
I could look at her expressions all day long, makes me feel like i want it more and more. Rosa has done such a fantastic job. Best movie of 2019 so far. I wonder why the critics hated this movie. Conspiracyn i guess.
Whether I like the content or not I always hope that movies or video games that heavily use motion capture always preform well simply cause I have so much respect for all the work that goes into the production from the cast and crew with projects like these.

Whether I like the content or not I always hope that movies or video games that heavily use motion capture always preform well simply cause I have so much respect for all the work that goes into the production from the cast and crew with projects like these.
