I’m was considering to get MC9 but I’m hearing a lot of problems with it. I’m considering TP9 sc or PDP compact or maybe still MC9 lol also M&P shield+ performance center(but it’s on the expensive end especially with accessories)
Thanks for the awesome review, as always! I have been watching your videos for several years now and they have always been extremely professional, informative, and very helpful!! Thanks!
In no way saying there isn't MC9s with issues but I've seen 4 different reviews where they ran the shit out of it without a single issue so l believe the problems with the MC9 are grossly over blown and bet the ones that have problems are well under 7 percent of them they have sold thousands of them if they sold 10,000 of them and 500 were returned for problems thats 5 percent these people act like 10,000 were sold and 8000 were returned because of issues
The only issue I had was that the magazines didn't drop very well. But after putting a couple of wraps of painters blue tape on a magazine and heating the handle and inserting the mag, and letting everything cool down. The mags dropped effortlessly. The pistol shoots extremely well, no jams, no stove piping, no nothing. As far as accuracy, I had great consistency in groups out to 25 yards, which for a micro conceal gun is great. But it's fun on the range as well. My teenage grandsons shot the pistol pretty accurately, especially for having never shot a pistol before.
The Canik is becoming like the Glocks in my collection: I can’t just get one! I think I have 8 Glocks(Glock 34,35,17G3,17G4,19G3,19G4,43,42). Now I have 3 Caniks(Mete SFX, Taran Tactical, Mete MC9). So far both my Glocks & Canik had zero malfunctions. I don’t understand when people keep assuming the MC9 or Caniks in general have tons of issues. I have 3 of them with thousands of rounds on each of them with zero issues. Either I keep getting lucky 🍀 or the issues reported are grossly exaggerated/inflated. Caniks are wonderful firearms. They remind me of my Walthers. 😊
Yeah, I just purchased this gun. (After some great reviews). Well, the honeymoon is over. I took it out today. Shot some basic range 9mm (Blazer "brass", 115gr) and also some Atlanta 115gr range ammo. So, not good. Stove pipes, failure to feed, Not ejecting, sometimes no slide hold open after last shot. This coming from a retired LEO of 20 years, firearms instructor at the local\state\ and federal level, graduate of the FBI HRT swat schools and I have never in my life had a gun so bad right out of the box as this Canik Mete MC9. It functions with some of the defensive 115 gr Altalnta, but that was it. I was going to make this my EDC carry, but not at the moment. The magazine not dropping out of the mag well is disappointing, (another video) So, I have contact Canik and requested advise on these issues. At this moment, I would not carry the Mete MC9, nor can I recommend this gun until these issues are resolved.
I sold mine a few weeks after purchase. It's quite literally the worst pistol I've ever owned. A Jam-O-Matic failure to return to battery. People are saying that the pistol is still completely unreliable after sending them back
Same here bought into hype as I love my elite full size and subcompact……but these are absolute garbage. They are sending cherry picked guns to reviewers. Go to any actual forums these guns have major issues
Ok, so here's an update. After working on my Mete MC9 (Polish feed ramp and chamber, sanding down the polymer frame slide area it is functioning like it should. Canik sent me a recoil spring, but I have not put it in because the work I did seem to work. I am still trying various ammo (Range and Carry) and is working as it should. No gun is 100% reliable including Glocks that I have carried most of my career. Don't count it out just yet. Canik should have done a better job before releasing this gun, it just hurt their reputation.@@cbr6864
Did anyone else notice how he avoided the 115 gr? This tool is "sprung" for the 124gr..If you want to run 115, you will need to replace the spring around the firing pin..$15 fix..
I'm looking to purchase my first firearm and i think i might go with the MC9. It's really hard to figure which firearm i want the most but this one is such a great value
Honest Outlaw gave it a great review as well. This little micro 9 is getting a try from me as well. Will it replace my sig? Probably not, but I’ll move it into my carry rotation for sure with everything it comes with and it’s dependability why not?
Im late, but i will say....i just bought the Mete MC9. I work at a gun store, so i got it for a good price. I have a Sig P365 XMacro compensated. I changed out the XMacro grip frame for a gray guns regular P365 grip frame, so it is super small, but still has that compensated slide. I love it. Shoots great......with frame, $1000 dollar gun. Mete MC9 i paid $360 for.....trigger is hands down better than the sig, by a lot. I had to sand down the front grip a bit, because it was stupid aggressive and dug into my fingers, but id have to say, ill carry the MC9 over the Sig any day.....and im a Sig fanboy 🤣
mine fail to feed they sent a new recoil spring. shot about 75 rounds 124gr fmj and jhp no issues until a a round got caught on the edge of the feed ramp. tried different rounds/magazines and same happened. put them in a different gun and shot normally. it's unreliable unsafe and now IMO components are mismatched. i read they replace striker spring, recoil spring, and now different feed ramps on barrels. not going to do that piece by piece. i'll send it back let them get it right and use my shield plus PC until...
Hi friend, I have a Sig Sauer p365X, I saw your video and it helped me to choose it. Now I want a 2nd spare weapon, what do you think about Canik, Mete Mc9, I hear problems in the barrel ramp and recoil spring. Do you recommend the Mete Mc9 or a sar 9sc, Taurus G2c or G3c or another option? Keeping a small size like my Sig Sauer P365X
This is the gun I wanted at the price I wanted, but it can’t do it. Based on other review here and on forums, this MC9 is problematic and I’m thinking the issue is QC, and not actual engineering. Wish Canik would address these issues and make this gun reliable!
In no way saying some MC9s don't have some issues but l just watched 4 reviews on the MC9 where they ran the shit out of it with absolutely no issues 600 rounds through mine it's been flawless will it be flawless forever probably not even with good care and maintenance once you firer 3000+ rounds through a firearm things will break maybe not major things but small things
@@gloriamaletta8667 All the review I originally saw all said the MC9s were fantastic.. There were a few that had FTF or RTB issues, right off the bat, but the reviewers were saying it probably just needed breakin. Well, those that gave fantastic reviews, the ones I saw, eventually started saying they had problems. The issues seem to come up between 500-1000 rounds. There are very few reviewers I've seen that didn't eventually change their mind on it's reliability. It's almost impossible to see a reviewer say they would recommend the MC9 as a EDC gun. The ones that did early on seems to all have changed their mind too. What I'd like to see now are new reviews with guns that were built say starting in July, because I've read that Canik has made some changes to fix the issues from the early pistols, but I think that was just speculation as to whether Canik has done anything or not.
@@crabjoe mine has a born date of 4-27-2023 l have a SIG P365 - Stoeger STR 9mc gen2 - Kimber R7 Mako - CANIK MC9 in my opinion out of all these micro 9s the Canik is just as good and dependable and reliable as all these micro 9s with 600 rounds of 115 and 124 grain brass FMJs and JHPs even 50 rounds of Federal 115 grain +P+ not one problem so far with it it has been flawless shoots and handles more like a compact than a micro
