    scrying with the darkness behind your closed eyes! I did this all the time when I was little on long car rides, I completely forgot about this and just realized right now that scrying is what I was doing.

    Here’s one idea that’s worked for me and I use to “attract” psychic energies in a TAROT reading. Get a decent sized clear glass goblet and fill it with water, Spring water is ideal and Storm water also works. As you center your mind while shuffling you look into the goblet from the side with only a white candle and focus on one detail and let your eyes go slightly out of focus then back and the cup will start to appear like a fourth or fifth dimension. I hold that as long as I can and I will see symbol that usually is in some way confirmed by the reading itself.

    i had a spontaneous experience where I saw a vision appearing in the black shiny surface of the dishwasher or oven and I kept looking and it revealed a whole scene to me which was one of my earliest scrying type experiences as a teenager. It came at a time when I was needing this type of clarity and connection to the reality of the spirit realm which til then I wasn't sure was my own imagination or was as real as I felt it was.

    I used to scry in the shower with my hair. Sorry if anyone finds this gross but people with long hair will relate - I would always stick the hair that I pulled out of my head to the side of the shower so I could throw it away later. Then I would scry into the shapes the hair made. Can't do it now because I have dreadlocks, but it was a lovely ritualistic part of my personal hygiene.

    You explained scrying perfectly to a T ! I find it so fascinating that so many people start scrying as a child. I remember full on " tripping out" to the wallpaper on my bedroom ceiling when I was 4 or 5 years old ! I am also really happy you've started crystal ball readings 🔮

    Love your suggestions for scrying! Super potent and some really juicy tips. I feel like I've been a 'failure' for not going into a super trance state with my crystal ball but I realise (and you talk about) the messages I've seen in the physical / reinterpreting shapes in the room or even my own face is just as valid as seeing images in my minds eye. Although I'm still such a newby to scrying it's definitely soothing to just go through the ritual of the process!

    :O My Nan used to (she passed on) see things in the clouds, births, deaths, things she just knew were connected to certain people, messages etc but I had never thought of it as scrying. The more I research and find out about what it is to be a witch and what that means, the more I know that witchcraft has been in our family for a long time and it is a huge comfort to me. Thank you so much for mentioning this form of scrying and bringing me to this realisation :)

    I had never thought of the things I see in the ceiling tiles or the curtains as scrying. I used to do that when I was little all the time. I used to see images in my ceilings and curtains all the time. You've just given me just a different perspective on scrying. Thank you!

    I have always practiced scrying behind my eyes...though, when I was little, I had no idea what I was doing. I was actually much older before I realised that this would even be considered scrying. I've never needed light. I can lay in bed in the dark with my eyes closed and colors swirl around. I still want to get a crystal ball, though! :)

    when I was a kid I used to scry through the slatted closet door in my bedroom. Always been a big fan of the close eye visuals too. One thing I think is weird thats harder to explain is imaginary touch- almost like having imaginary hands that can reach out into this space and I feel myriad objects out there sliding through the astral hands. For me that really boosts the close eye visuals through association.

  • @ellgainford6174
    @ellgainford6174 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I was always taught that, when scrying with a crystal ball or a black mirror, you're trying to look beyond the object to get into a trance state. The visions you see will be so much more intense than simply looking for an image.

    • @kelly-annmaddox
      @kelly-annmaddox  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I get your point but I don't think that we can vouch for everyone's experiences in a generalised way. 'Reinterpretation' of what is already there in the physical is still important and can be noted. This may be especially important for those who are finding that the trance state is difficult to maintain but that they are managing to 're-imagine' what is already there. I would argue that with cloud-gazing, we are actually re-imagining the already existing shapes more than we are looking *beyond* the shapes entirely, so it also kind of depends on which medium you're using.

    I've always seen clear images when I watched TV static as a kid, I though I was just a bit stupid but this along with a tarot reading that told me that my magic would naturally tend toward shamanism and scrying make me thing that it might just be my gift, like reminence of magic way back in my bloodline that adapted with the environment I grew up in

    • @TheGabygael
      @TheGabygael 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Funny thing: there is a VHS TV in my room and I thought I would probably put a curved mirror (because I love the aesthetic) and choose a scrying mirror kill two birds with one stone and the other day while lying in bed I thought to myself "if I have the mirror I should put the TV in another room because both of them would be redundant"

    Funny, perfect timing. I was doing a walking meditation by a brook yesterday (I guess for Litha but I only remembered it was litha halfway through the walk). I found a thick piece of smoky grey tumbled river glass. It's sheen is naturally perfect for scrying but I have never tried scrying before. I thought when I found the glass that I would need to look up a video on the topic. Et voila 🔮

    i was so excited when i saw this video in my feed. :) A belated blessed solstice to you...After work, i spent my free time outside yesterday and was not on the interwebs so catching up on the video now. I am of the belief that just about anything can be used for scrying...i have even used the floaters in my eyes lol. When i close my eyes i have a ton of floaters ( for those who don't have those, they look like little floating dots or worms that you see when you close your eyes) - they annoyed me when i first started having so many of them, but then decided to go with the flow and use them to my advantage

    one thing - scrying works best when you are very tired... the more tired, the better :-) Test it out xo

    • @kelly-annmaddox
      @kelly-annmaddox  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, I have long recognised that my brain is on hyper-alert status when I'm tired, and this can cause interesting 'misinterpretations' of objects or groups of objects. However, a lot of the time it is unintentional and scary, haha! But at those times when I was lying in the bath using the frosted glass window (which I mentioned in this vid), I was indeed usually tired and it did enhance the experience.

  • @puggilove
    @puggilove 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Taste that cornucopia lol! I needed this vid so much, I was losing hope with my scrying! I see mini films, like gifs, and can't make sense of them. They don't seem at all related to my intention - really random stuff like shoelaces being tied or a hand closing a drawer! I'll keep on keeping on though, thank you kelly-ann. Maybe I'll change setting or time of day etc x

    Funny, coz I have done this successfully around 3-4 years ago but I didn't know what it was called. I had a hot bath with a bath bomb from Lush and lots of incense and candle light. I can still see the images that appeared, and I remembered the message of the experience, but I only got proof that what I saw was correct a few weeks ago. Was very strange to get proof like that, I was quite happy just believing that I'm a bit odd, but no, I was right :p

    When I scry into clouds, if done when they fly across the sky at a good pace, the clouds actually answer my question I am asking in a series of clear distinct scenes. And it is not just me seeing these shapes. I remember being in a parking lot and being offended that my personal message was up in the sky and hoping people could not tell and then I heard people by the car by me looking at what I was looking at stating exactly what I was seeing too. I had a stalker actually attack me and the clouds were of a person strangling another, standing over them with their hands on their neck with their arms outstretched, the victim on their knees mouth wide open, which is what he did to me- he tried to strangle me- and this was up in the sky and we all saw it. I was asking if he was going to leave me alone at last. What are the odds that we all saw that play in the sky when that was my question and that image the ending before the cloud billowed back to a circle again? Years later he did break into my back screened door and tried to strangle me again. He left when I was unable to breath but my throat popped back open afterwards. My family and everybody (even police) told me it was my exbf who did it, it was not. When I scried next for a solution, in my phantom clear quartz point tower, I saw an ex-coworker lay a red rose on my grave and I took that as he cared and he is now a cop too, which I forgot, so I went and told him everything. Either that red rose on my grave is symbolic that he cares, or it means he will in real life lay a red rose on my grave. I never saw how old he was in the vision or the date. I just knew it was him, saw the rose, and knew it was my fresh grave. He is 100% the right person to go to, because he witnessed several visits of the stalker stalking me and the stalker had threatened to kill him too. The act of scrying knows, and it gives the best advice as it's ego does not get in the way of answering your crys for help. I pray that the stalker never lays their hands on a single person ever again. I know I was not the only girl, and he always called me a redhead, although my hair is brown.
